PP here. We are Langley pyramid. |
EPRF. passage reading fluency. They don’t include the score (or they didn’t last year at least). I believe it is used to check the box indicating whether or not child is advanced in reading. |
V, Q, N, Stanine, age percentile, grade percentile, ability profile..... so many categories!!
What score matters for AAP??? |
Teachers's referral. |
152.
Langley pyramid. Teacher doesn’t seem to think too highly of DS’s written / creative capabilities so I don’t know whether he will recommend. |
Got in the pool means? What is a pool? |
"In the 2021-22 SY, the NNAT and CogAt test scores were combined to create a ranking of students at each local school second grade class group. From that ranked list, the top 10% of scores were selected for the local second grade pool, now known as the universal screener referral." https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/advanced-academic-programs-aap/advanced-academic-programs-aap-level-iv |
Thank you. Is composite score for CogAT used for this? |
Only 10%? In our school, about 20% second graders get admitted in AAP every year. it's an AAP center. |
Too 10% of the class using both nnat and Cogat in someway. 10% can actually be a greater number than expected as the children in the class am an have the same score and this still be in the top 10%. Also children are accepted from referrals not just from being a part of the universal screener pool. |
"in pool" refers to the pool of students automatically REFERRED to the central committee for eligibility. The committee still needs to review their packages that the school submits and admit them, so there's likely some who don't make it into AAP. Parents can also refer, which makes up another cadre of students that the central committee reviews, which is not limited in number - everyone can be submitted for review, though not everyone will be admitted. Combined, this is how 20% of your class makes it into AAP. As a center, you also bring in AAP students from other non-center schools who don't want to stay for potentially watered down LLIV curriculum. |
Got my kids scores (2nd grade)
Verbal only had 36 q’s whereas non verbal and quant had 52/ 50 respectively. Is this consistent with others? Asking because her verbal was a LOT lower than quant and non verbal |
Yes, there are fewer Verbal questions |
Still no scores for us. Flint hill. |
That's because FCPS version deletes the "sentence completion" subsection. To me, that should render the test invalid, but what do I know. |
