^^I don’t think that’s how it works anymore. The blended has to be in the top x percentile.
Just got in pool with 105 NNAT. No CogAT score yet but would have to be extreme if they're blended.
Got in the pool means? What is a pool?
"In the 2021-22 SY, the NNAT and CogAt test scores were combined to create a ranking of students at each local school second grade class group. From that ranked list, the top 10% of scores were selected for the local second grade pool, now known as the universal screener referral." https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/advanced-academic-programs-aap/advanced-academic-programs-aap-level-iv
Only 10%? In our school, about 20% second graders get admitted in AAP every year. it's an AAP center.
"in pool" refers to the pool of students automatically REFERRED to the central committee for eligibility. The committee still needs to review their packages that the school submits and admit them, so there's likely some who don't make it into AAP. Parents can also refer, which makes up another cadre of students that the central committee reviews, which is not limited in number - everyone can be submitted for review, though not everyone will be admitted. Combined, this is how 20% of your class makes it into AAP. As a center, you also bring in AAP students from other non-center schools who don't want to stay for potentially watered down LLIV curriculum.
