That’s not a GFM to pay for the specific teachers involved to pay medical bills. That is a GFM where the money goes directly to the director of PS who apparently will then split it evenly among all PS staff. It discloses that in the description. |

I am getting so tired of the crime in DC. People should be able to walk down the street without being harassed by these aggressive panhandlers and mentally unstable people. As a woman, I’m tired of being made to feel uncomfortable.
Hoping for a quick recovery for all involved. |
My brother, a big guy that sane people don’t mess with, was held up with a gun to his head very recently. Another one of the crazies tried to mug him 4 times in a week (I wouldn’t believe it either if I hadn’t been on the phone), grabbing him by the back of his neck each time. Police wouldn’t do anything. He finally sought out that guy himself and made an agreement with him to stop it, but that certainly isn’t an option for most. This city really doesn’t care about the safety of its residents anymore. It is all about the feelings of the untreated mentally ill, everyone else is left to fend for themselves. |
In Fairfax County, this is called First Amendment rights. It's called political expression. What's their cause? Themselves. |
He’s not wrong. DC police won’t do anything. Every would-be criminal in DC knows that fact. |
If he is criminally mentally ill and unable to conduct himself in a manner that does not injure others, then yes. |
- and yet, you keep voting for democrats who defund the police . . . |
He's also a serious sex offender, who jerks off repeatedly in front of people, including 30 little kids. Why this point alone isn't getting highlighted is a disservice to all victims of sex crimes and just beyond my comprehension. He needs more than mental health services (to keep his d!ck in his pants). |
PP does not care about the victims. Defund the police, right PP? |
PP here. Thanks for this info. I work in a school system, too. Very concerning incident and also a liability issue for the school system if a child or teacher were hurt. |

My toddler goes to PS Bloomingdale and was present for the attack. Two teachers went to the hospital, but others were sexually assaulted by this individual as well. All of the teachers are understandably traumatized, and as a parent of one of these kids (he seems to be ok, thankfully) I can't express how grateful I am to these caregivers. Also, for other commenters in this thread: Parker's office has been incredibly responsive and facilitated a ton of help for the parents. I think he would probably re-word his initial statement given the chance, but that was posted very soon after incident. He issued a follow-up statement later that clarified his office is working to ensure this guy is charged and not immediately released, which may very well have happened if he hadn't gotten involved and brought a lot of press attention. |
Thank you for this info. I'm so glad your toddler and the other children were kept safe by their teachers and those who rushed over to help them! |
Thank you for this info! I'm also in Zachary Parkers ward and I have to say I think he is really trying. Very glad that his efforts may help to ensure that Russell stays locked up somehow. |

This man needs psychological support and you are all more than willing to destroy his life over something that was likely out of his control.
He can’t help himself because he is mentally ill. You have no empathy? His neighbors didn’t press charges because they were good human beings who didn’t want to see another Black man locked up or possibly killed. We need to discuss mental health support above all else or this problem will not get better. |
