Attack on Petit Scholars daycare staff

I still can't believe the first statement from that idiot Zachary Parker.

It couldn't be more clear that public safety was so far off his radar before yesterday for him to have such a stupid response. It's unbelievable how little District official care about regular taxpaying citizens.

Zachary Parker is an embarrassment. He makes Charles Allen look like he’s tough on crime.

"She said she yelled at the man, who then turned and walked toward her, despite her threats to call police.

“Call them — they won’t do anything,” the man replied, "

Shameful.

Nailed it. Clearly not THAT mentally ill.

I have seen things in the past couple years that I never would have thought possible. I’ve watched the police ignore dozens of phone calls for help. This was bound to happen. We better gets ours heads out of our As before we lose the entire city. Businesses are closing, people are leaving in droves, innocent bystanders are getting hurt every day. Stop this restorative justice crap and get out city back!

Sorry, but there is no rehab for someone with a rap sheet like his and who is regularly and routinely engaging in sexually concerning behaviors toward women. St. Elizabeth's is where he needs to go and to stay.

But they are finding him supports.

Who is paying for the medical bills of the victims?

There’s a go fund me. I hope all of the people who are “working” to get Russell “help” for his “mental health” are also paying to resolve the consequences of his actions.

A go fund me for what? His sexual offender therapy? What has happened to society that we are handling with kid gloves a guy who is a sexual predator.

The go fund me is to pay for the victims bills.

He is receiving ample supports provided by the city, at taxpayer expense.

We need involuntary holds and treatment. Period. These poor workers and kids!

Ah yes, a weekend at PIW will do the trick!

Not a long term solution for sure. But what are the options?

Not being released without a psychiatrists say - so? I'm fine with an appeal panel and all that, but people need to be kept and treated until they are better. Can this be legislated at the local level?

I believe involuntary commitment for mental illness or drug addiction is already on the books in DC. The part I'm not sure about is keeping them.

I'll let you know tomorrow. I encounter him multiple times a day. He's never been aggressive to me, just annoying and clearly mentally ill/drug-altered. But I'm also a no BS type.

I feel like the period around 2015 was the turning point. That's when D.C. got rid of vice squads. That's when Allen, Nadeau, and Silverman joined the Council (though the progressive trend had already started before), and when Bowser became mayor. That's when we got a huge spike in homicides, the highest number in seven years (though they'd be considered great numbers today). 2016 is when Bowser said she wanted to put homeless shelters all across the city. The housing voucher program began in 2017. The prosecution no-paper rates started going up in 2017, the new Youth Rehabilitation Act was 2018, as was the decriminalization of jumping the fare gate on the metro.

A lot of the groundwork for the current problems were being laid in the years leading up to the pandemic. And during the pandemic, it just exploded.

"Police records show that, as of Tuesday, Dunkley was being detained at a hospital."

Hopefully he remains under arrest while hospitalized and then released to prison
