I still can't believe the first statement from that idiot Zachary Parker.
It couldn't be more clear that public safety was so far off his radar before yesterday for him to have such a stupid response. It's unbelievable how little District official care about regular taxpaying citizens. |
Zachary Parker is an embarrassment. He makes Charles Allen look like he’s tough on crime. |
Nailed it. Clearly not THAT mentally ill. |
| I have seen things in the past couple years that I never would have thought possible. I’ve watched the police ignore dozens of phone calls for help. This was bound to happen. We better gets ours heads out of our As before we lose the entire city. Businesses are closing, people are leaving in droves, innocent bystanders are getting hurt every day. Stop this restorative justice crap and get out city back! |
He is receiving ample supports provided by the city, at taxpayer expense. |
| He’s already been released again. |
I can’t tell if this is a joke or not. |
I believe involuntary commitment for mental illness or drug addiction is already on the books in DC. The part I'm not sure about is keeping them. |
I'll let you know tomorrow. I encounter him multiple times a day. He's never been aggressive to me, just annoying and clearly mentally ill/drug-altered. But I'm also a no BS type. |
I bet it isn’t. Do you really not know how bad it has gotten??? I’ve been screaming for help for 2 years!!! |
OMG. |
I feel like the period around 2015 was the turning point. That's when D.C. got rid of vice squads. That's when Allen, Nadeau, and Silverman joined the Council (though the progressive trend had already started before), and when Bowser became mayor. That's when we got a huge spike in homicides, the highest number in seven years (though they'd be considered great numbers today). 2016 is when Bowser said she wanted to put homeless shelters all across the city. The housing voucher program began in 2017. The prosecution no-paper rates started going up in 2017, the new Youth Rehabilitation Act was 2018, as was the decriminalization of jumping the fare gate on the metro. A lot of the groundwork for the current problems were being laid in the years leading up to the pandemic. And during the pandemic, it just exploded. |
"Police records show that, as of Tuesday, Dunkley was being detained at a hospital." https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/10/24/daycare-attack-dc-teachers-toddlers/ Hopefully he remains under arrest while hospitalized and then released to prison |
