I’ve heard they are going to play Damascus instead for obvious reasons

It’s a good diversion by STA, don’t you think?

Regardless of who is doing it, these last couple pages should be taken off.

Why? There are tons of DCUMs that go off plot. And before you noticed - the ones that were probably too much on plot were already deleted.

Yes, we need to focus on unfounded speculation about the incident, and poorly-disguised glee among parents whose kids don't attend STA. Priorities, people!

DP. I am an STA parent and certainly not gleeful but I do think the sooner they can reveal what happened the better because unfortunately people assume the worst happened and the longer that is out there the more difficult it will be the undo any stigma related to this team and STA.

I actually love that whatever happened has been been revealed! I even stuck with this thread through the "who is good at football" phase just to see if the tea would be spilt. Very happy that it wasn't as it is refreshing to see a parent group show some restraint.
I don't have kids at STA (for real), but the STA parents and boys seem to universally love the school and the HOS so I think it is admirable that they don't trash their school. Clearly a young man has made a mistake of some kind - let him, his family and school deal with it appropriately, which is what they seem to be doing.

a "mistake"; is that what we call it when a privileged person breaks the law?

Yes. Consistently, yes. Whenever they do something illegal, immoral, cruel, etc etc it is written off as not only a mistake, but an innocent one made by an otherwise stellar young man at STA.

You don’t know anything about the incident, the child in question or their “privilege” … yes, there are some not so great kids at every school but they are KIDS. take a beat and think about that. as the parent of a upper schooler at STA/NCS, I am all for accountability and consequences appropriate for the situation (and tbh think all the Cathedral schools could do better in this area) but not for flogging in the public square.

Not every kid at this school is “privileged” the way you are implying. Unless you mean lucky or fortunate to have received aid or some other means to allow them to pursue an education there. Or fortunate to have parents who sacrifices for the experience. Not everyone there is an entitled rule breaking arrogant snob as you seems to wish to believe.

Wait, was there a finding announced that someone broke the law? I thought there was an investigation…

Yes, it’s also what reasonable people call it when an underprivileged person breaks the law.

I thought the whole point of this thread is that nobody knows what happened. Who knows if the "mistake" was breaking the law when nobody seems to know that the "mistake" was.

Exactly. None of us knows what happened.
