I hope they find the nut who killed him.
SF relies a lot on tourist $$$$. These kind of stories make people reconsider going there.

They really need to get things cleaned up there. And, they can start by finding this criminal.

And, where is Gavin Newsom at this time? Has he said anything about this killing?

+1. I don't understand the whole "well he shouldn't have been out at 2:30am!" sentiment. He was a young guy with friends in the city. Isn't there an important point to be made here if he can't be out on the street without being stabbed to death?! Are we now at the point with SF, NYC, Chicago, etc., that we should now EXPECT this?! Maybe we should be focusing a bit more on the damn nutjob who did this. And of course, Newsom is nowhere to be found.

Uh, yes, we are at the point that one should expect this. That’s the problem. Go walk around late if you want.

We do not live in a crime free world. We never ever will, no matter what anyone does. So yes, we should all act accordingly. Don’t be surprised when you get mugged/assaulted/killed if you’re out walking alone at 2am. Reality sucks - but it is what it is.

Crypto is a Ponzi scheme. I side-eye the people involved in it, frankly, and Bob Lee was what, the CEO of a cryptocurrency firm? Shady. Dodgy. Trading fake currencies in a trustless environment

Crypto is an MLM that drains people's pockets on false promises and where you can never cash out for what you put in. I don't see much of a difference between cryptocurrency firms and various spirituality scams. They're just scammy investors attempting to profit on overvalued or even worthless assets by selling them on to the next “greater fool”.

And yes, I am saying that Bob Lee was responsible for not only participating in this dishonest market but actively pushing it. Did he piss off someone who lost everything in a scam? We'll probably never know. It's something to think about though.

Pretty suspicious that 3 top crypto execs died just weeks apart last year...and now another crypto exec dies violently at the hands of a mysterious assailant.

The others were Nikolai Mushegian, age 29, Tiantian Kullander, 30, and Vyacheslav Taran, age 53.

So they were driving together, had a confrontation, Lee exited the car and the other guy stabbed him.

What in the world could possess two multi-millionaires to get into an altercation like this.

Do people keep knives capable of killing someone in their cupholders??

Why, I was the PP who said it was likely an intentional murder not random homeless or mugging because he has his wallet and phone.

Over on hacker News they speculate it had to do with fraud at Block that happened right around time he left.
Anonymous
Makes sense that it was not a robbery, still had wallet and phone. If he got out of a car during an argument, makes sense he was walking in an odd location. Getting out was an attempt to deescalate. Wonder what those who were with them earlier may have to say.

Very sad.
