What's going on with MadLax 2026

The obvious place to go is MadLax 2026. Now that the a-hole families are gone, the culture will be totally different, and unlike Next Level, MadLax goes to the good tournaments like NLF, NAL, and US Club Nationals. they will fly in players from anywhere in the country to fill roster needs. The team won't be anywhere near top 20 nationally, but NL 2026 was never higher than 50-60, if that, so MadLax is probably still an upgrade. Plus, Cabell is never around and unless you are on 2028 or 2024, you literally will never see him and never have to speak with him. I don't know much about the 2026 coach, but it sounds like his greatest crime was allowing the bad element on the team to walk all over him, and now that element is gone, he probably feels liberated and can coach his own way. Being part of the ML 2026 rebuild could actually be a pretty cool opportunity.

Thanks for your take, Cabbell.

The happy families that stayed or were not part of the in click will be better off and from what I hear CM and HH will coach the team now.

So what happened to the NL kids that were cut? Red team?

Nobody was actually cut. Reduced playtime or offer for Red. They are leaving it up to the players and their families. Easy way out so they do not look bad replacing half a team mid year so players cannot find another landing spot.

Reduce playing time equals 0 playing time, unless winning by 10.

True. You can get no PT on Blue, or pay $3K/year to play on Red. Best answer is to leave the club altogether, they don't deserve another dime from these parents.

Stay on Blue. If you're good enough to make the team again next year, stick with NL Blue. Your kid needs to get better on their own, but look at the 24 team. Starters are all committing early and backups are playing most of the fall. NL does a great job of advertising their kids... backups are getting recruited.

Watch the 25 team - same thing will happen next year.

As long as the 26 team is good - tons of college coaches will watch them. BUT the kid will need to "shine" when given playing opportunity.

If you're not getting PT, don't stay on the team. Backups on NL 2024 are likely getting recruited due to HS playing time, rather than non-appearances on NL 2024. The drop from Blue to Red is steep and most if not all of the players getting pushed to the bench are too good for the Red team.

Additionally, as a parent, you'll likely have an issue paying more money to a group of people who so comprehensively screwed you over, did nothing to develop your kid, showed zero loyalty to you and your family.

It's a business nad I get why NL did what they did. Parents should take note and find another club. You're the customer, not the sucker.

"Making" the team isn't enough. You got to play. The attack is locked in, I assume, based on who we know orchestrated the whole thing. Blend poles/middies from both clubs. Goalie from Philly an fogo from hilltop. If you aren't in those groups, move on. Go play.

Find a place to play and given the fact you are not part of the said "group" no chance you will play as those players didn't move to watch others play from NL and the sidelines will be entertaining as well. Other options are available like going to Madlax they should have some spots. VLC is an option and TC and Hammers. Those teams will always welcome good players and if a team is deep could also make some noise. Better yet stay and work harder at beating those individuals out. Nothing is locked in if you are out work somebody! Hard work always wins! Best of luck to all of you.

If I were the parent of an NL 2026 who got screwed over by this move and had older/younger kids on a different NL club, I'd move them all to other teams. Willing to bet this is true for more than one family on 2026. $3000/yr for each kid in club dues, need to ask yourself what you're getting in return.

Go to another team this year if you can. Try out for NL in the fall... if you make it, you may not get as much PT, but you will get a lot of help from NL for recruiting. ML/VLC/DCE will not help you get recruited unless you are one of their top players.

Ultimately up to you, but you will have a better chance of getting recruited as a backup on NL then you will as a backup for any other club in this area. TC/Hammers are fine if you want to play D3.

I hope J Gilberts dinner was tremendous.

Previous poster is correct. If you are going to be a backup type player, be a backup for NL. Being a backup for ML or DCE will not help with recruiting.

To all the people saying to go to another club - My guess is that the kid is average at best. Otherwise, he would have made the combo NL team.

Do what is best for you and your family, BUT if kid wants to play D1 - stay with NL.

I don't get the reference here. Who goes to J Gilberts?
