CMU is a one-trick pony, only good for CS. |
Northeastern has its own page.

Why does Northeastern have a page when Tufts and Brandeis don't |
OMG the NE rankings/marketing machine is literally like the greatest example of advertising from this century. |
Brandeis isn’t important anymore. |
Affirmative action. |
PP here. I went back over the T100 national universities and T50 LACs and that was the only one I missed. Nonetheless, it's a shocker |
Generate money doing absolutely nothing. |
Rankings are a feedback loop. Prestige comes from history. One of the reasons why Berkeley doesn't have banners projecting its status as the preeminent public university in the world like UCLA does with the "#1" banners all over its campus, or why Stanford didn't care that it was ranked in the middle of the latter half of the T10, four spots below the egregiously over-ranked Chicago in 2019. Schools like these will be prestigious and draw hordes of applicants irrespective of their rankings. Northeastern needs a high ranking to survive, and I predict that this will be the case for national universities ranked outside of the T100 (like Northeastern a decade ago) and LACs ranked outside of the T50. |
The consultants who come out of this hat firm are almost useless. Never have gotten the allure. |
McKinsey is the absolute worst. On top of all the unethical stuff they do, they also lauded Enron's business practices. I have never been impressed with them when I interact with them professionally. |
NP here. Honestly, I sort of secretly root for Northeastern. There is so much hate on the school that I feel like it's a bit of a Cinderella team. I can't help but root for the underdog. |
So Georgetown AND BC is there but Notre Dame isn't? |
Not sure why several people here are saying ND is not on the list. It is there. Has been since the beginning of this thread. |
