Knife-wielding assailant tries to stab NY gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin

It's fake-a** drama. At no point was Zeldin "assaulted". The guy is despicable for staging and amplifying this non-event. And The Base is just eating it up.

Now if the drunk guy had been shooting off an AR-15, like Zeldin wants everyone to have access to, then maybe that's a problem. Kitty ears waved around by a drunk who was put up to the stunt? No.

Weird that the right wing is more freaked out about some sloppy drunk waving around a keychain with kitty ears than they are about extremists hopped up on toxic antisemitism and "replacement theory" rhetoric shooting up shopping centers with AR-15s.

Sandra Doorley, the District Attorney who charged Jakubonis with second degree assault is a co-chair of Zeldin's campaign. Because the charge was second degree and not first degree, Jakubonis was eligible for release. So, I don't think the repeated attempts to blame Jakubonis' release on progressives are warranted. To the contrary, Zeldin's own campaign co-chair is to blame.

My Republican dad has been ranting about this since it happened. "NY is lawless, and laws must be applied to Rs and Ds equally!" He trolls all the conservative news sites all day.

Funny thing is, he had NOT heard that the DA was Zeldin's co chair and made that charge that let the assailant walk.

can't wait to hear what the Feds find out. (popping pop corn)

Is there a site where we can confirm that Doorley is the co chair? I checked Zeldin's campaign site, nothing. (shock)

We still don't even know that the assailant was a "Democrat." The story floating around was that he was drunk, had no clue who Zeldin even was, but was supposedly told by someone that the guy on stage was "talking shit about veterans" (Jakubonis is apparently a Bronze Star Iraq veteran) and he took offense at it and went to take the microphone off of him.

This thread has grown strangely quiet. A few pages back someone said Dems were trying to ignore this. But who is ignoring it now???

I'm sorry, what? It got quiet after links to the NY Senate was posted, along with the lawyer's link, save for the false flag posts.

Are you now shocked at how bad you are at checking for things?

If he had been a Democrat, you’d be howling in outrage. Utter hypocrite.
