Knife-wielding assailant tries to stab NY gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin

NY is broken and this whole bail reform crap is part of the problem. The issue is that there are people that should be locked up, period. Not roaming the streets to commit crime after crime.

Why are Democrats responsible for this guy getting ROR from a tiny local yokel town judge with a Republican DA on the case?

PP said nothing about Democrats or Republicans.
What PP did say was that NY is broken. I would agree. When an assailant attacks a sitting congressman and gubernatorial candidate and is out with NO BAIL a couple hours later, there is something wrong.

No Texas is broken. NY is doing fine.

I agree. It was faked. What a whiner.

No. Leave them up. These comments are very instructive of the posters here.

Agreed!! And didn't he governor of NY tell people to go to Zeldin's speech? Insurrection!

What I see is an odd dude kind of lumber toward him with a bizarre hello kitty looking thing on his hand. He didn't seem to really get a hand on Zeldin and within a couple seconds, he is tackled.

He likely has mental health issues, but this wasn't some violent attack on someone. A scary moment that he got on stage, sure. Had he been quicker or had a worse weapon, it could have been worse.

I'd be more mad at my security people who did a pisspoor job of protecting me if I were Zeldin.

He didn't get a hand on Zeldin because Zeldin himself was able to stave off the attack until the guy was tackled (by a former Marine I might add)

And on his own recognizance. Hilarious. When he 'Hello Kittys" a baby in a stroller, I guess that's when y'all will look up.

Me again. Yes, she did:

New York Gov. Kathy Hochu encouraged her supporters to confront Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin on his “far-right agenda” hours before a man wielding a knife tried to attack Zeldin at a campaign stop in Fairport, New York.

Is this more "tourist" BULLSHIT?

The violent MAGA rioters chanting "hang Pence" literally came within just a few feet of Pence and his security detail was worried that even they might not make it out of there alive. And they put every member of Congress at risk.
