Was there a lot to do in Turks? I’m worried we’ll get bored, is there good snorkeling?

We went last April. Not a ton to do, and I don't think we spent $3k all in for 8 days for two drinking adults.

The direct flight can be a killer, but I find that with all of United non stop flights to tropical destinations. We stayed in a beach front condo, so that cut a lot of costs, but Seven Stars is lovely.

It's more of a beach and eat sort of place. We did a like day trip, but we flew to South Caicos.

Sea Island with our tween and teen girls. Great time!

Was it crowded? Also how did you like their beach? Any preference room-wise between the Beach club and the main building?

I’m considering booking a trip in late July if something opens up.

Folly Beach, SC. Airbnb with 3 kids. It was lovely. Low key, not busy, easy to get to charleston, sullivan's island.

Disney Cruise out of Miami plus pre/post cruise time in South Beach. Cruise was amazing! You can’t beat the friendly service, entertainment, etc. Great weather! Very relaxing vacation because we didn’t have to plan anything. Tons of activities, or you can just chill.

We arent really Disney people, but I must say it’s adorable to see kids dressed up in costumes meeting the characters. The vibe is magical.

Travel/COVID - a MAJOR headache. We flew from O'Hare on a Friday night and the security line was more than two hours long - after we got in the right line (we spent about 30 minutes in a wrong one - it was a zoo). And my three year old was less than happy, as you'd imagine. The flight was late, so we made it. But it made for a challenging flight over. No Precheck or shorter lines available. We'd arrived at the airport 2.5 hours before the flight, with boarding passes in hand and carry on luggage only. It'd never before been an issue.

Flowflex video tests worked perfectly for the return COVID testing. Unfortunately, my husband got a positive result. We'd understood that this was a possibility, of course. What we didn't anticipate was just how incompetent TAP Airlines could be. Between my husband and me, we spent 10-11 hours trying to change flights, including online, on the phone, and in-person. On two occasions, there was a 2+ hour wait to speak to someone at the airport. So we lost parts of three days rearranging tickets (one to tell the airline none of us would be on the flight, one to get me and the kids new flights home, and one to get my husband home). Never again with TAP. But now my husband doesn't want to go abroad, given that his 8 night trip turned into a 15 night trip. He had only a mild case and had his work laptop to work remotely, but it was still a huge headache.

So now I'm dreaming up trips I can take solo, with friends, or with the kids. Because I still have the travel bug.

TAP is a hot mess. Don't fly them. Fly United or do a layover in London, Spain or any other European city and then fly over. On a low cost airline like Easy Jet or something.

I have a 5 year old (fairly difficult) and a 15 year old. The oldest has been to WDW many times and wants to go on a Disney cruise.
I think it would be great for the 5 year old but worry about my 15 year old being bored.

AND I worry about Covid. I did one (non Disney) cruise right before Covid and I keep looing back on that and think Covid would spread fast. Would love to hear about your experience. I hear Disney cruises are the best

Sedona: stayed at Hilton Resort Bell Rock - no complaints, a little out of town but there are restaurants you can walk to. Beautiful views from our room. Also walkable to Bell Rock to hike. Did a 1.5 hour Pink Jeep tour. Everyone enjoyed the very bumpy ride. The food in Sedona was ok, but we also didn’t plan ahead to snag reservations at really good places.

Grand Canyon: Did a day long Pink Jeep tour. It was right for us; we wanted to see the GC but weren’t looking to hike etc.

Phoenix: stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. Really liked this resort. Newly renovated (still in process but that’s fine), lazy river, multiple pools. Recommend the Musical Instrument Museum if you want some time out of the sun. Good Mexican food in Phoenix.

No problem with flights but National parking looked iffy so we Lyfted there and back.

I LOVED our vacation to AZ a few years ago and yet I would never want to live there. As a vacation destination, it really is wonderful.
