If they have it, why does it matter? |
What'd that run? |
| Venice travelers- where did you do your return home test? I have emed tests but worried about long wait times to video chat with a dr. Thanks! We fly home Tuesday |
The Berckman’s tix were the cherry on top! |
| Mexico with elementary age kids- wonderful and easy, flew United with no glitches or delays. Easy customs. Service at destination top notch. Finally a truly relaxed post covid vacation! We’ve traveled a lot during covid but have mostly done VRBO - so a resort felt so nice. |

We took a road trip to Toronto & Niagara Falls, with stops in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, & some other sites along the way. It was really fun, and the kids loved getting to visit another country. There were some things not open for the season yet, but we found plenty of things to do.
Thankfully Canada just dropped the COVID testing requirement to enter on April 1, making things much simpler. With the exception of Pittsburgh, which must have the same spring break we have, nowhere we went was crowded (very uncrowded, in fact). Also, lots of driving, but very little traffic except in Toronto. Weather was chilly some days but overall fine. When everyone else heads south, try heading north.

| Took a great cruise. |
| We had an event in Kentucky, so we made a vacation out of it and spent a few nights in Pigeon Forge on the way through. It was…entertaining, lol. It’s basically ocean city or myrtle beach in the middle of Tennessee, but with way more Jesus stickers and trump flags. My 8 year old adored it though, we must have played 5 mini golf courses in 3 days. We also did a hike in the National park and saw a lumberjack show. |
+1 for City Museum! And St. Louis generally. It’s a low key very cool city if you know where to go. Love U City and the Hill. |
Glad you liked it! I grew up in that neighborhood and know people related to the family that used to own that property. It is real Tucson! |
| We went to Moab and everything went incredibly smoothly. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities. The high varied between high 50s to about 70 (though early mornings were chilly). We did a u-drive UTV tour that was really fun (my first time driving off road). We tried canyoneering for the first time. My kids (10 and 12) liked this the best. One of the rappels was 120 feet, which was both terrifying and very fun. We also went zip ling and liked that. Arches just started the timed entry ticket pilot and it was great. We were able to find a parking spot everywhere we stopped in the park. There are lots of short hikes in Arches, which suited our family well. We drove about 90 minutes to Gobblin Valley State park. The landscape was crazy and it was definitely worth the trip. Kids are allowed to climb all over the hoodoos unlike lots of other parks. It was a great trip for a family who likes some adventures, seeing pretty scenery and a some light hiking. I would definitely recommend it! |
| We are in Spain, coming home tomorrow. Went to Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, and Granada. Beautiful weather, great food. We did our eMed tests today, sailed through with negative results and no wait time for a proctor. People wore masks inside without issue, rates are very low here. |

Florida.
We spent half the week in Key Largo which we liked a lot but it really was more expensive than I would have predicted. I booked a few months ago so maybe that was too late to get deals. Also apparently spring is windy season so you often can’t get out to the coral reefs? We snorkeled biscayne NP (through the non profit Biscsyne institute—highly recommend) which was great even though we couldn’t get to the reef. Now in Fort Lauderdale and despite the area looking nice to me when I researched it, it seems kind of trashy. Most of the restaurants seem to be advertising very cheap booze and the stores are selling t shirts that mostly have jokes about how much one drinks or women’s body parts. I’m not really knowledgeable about Florida so probably did not pick the best place for us. It’s raining today so will head to the movies and hoping tomorrow we can ride bikes along the beach and maybe hunt for shells or something. Or just get drunk, I guess. |
Where did you fly in/out of, and did you take the train or rent a car? |
Flew into and out of Madrid. Train to Cordoba and Seville, drove from Seville to Ronda to Granada, then train Granada back to Madrid. |
