I thought it was boring beyond belief but I agree with the rest of what you said. The actress playing Kate is beautiful and I thought she and Anthony did have chemistry it's just there was no story other than the obvious "they hate one another and will end up together." Everything was obvious and soooo drawn out. |
| Lady Danbury is my favorite. I thought it was hilarious when she kept calling out how they were behaving around each other. |
Eh, they don't look good together. She is broader in the shoulders then he is. He is too tiny for her. |
OMG. You are a weirdo. Lemme guess, you loved the tiny little white girl who was the lead in the first season. |
Regency norms?
|
| Just finished episode 3 where a bee lands on Kate and she and Anthony almost kiss. I’m still not feeling any chemistry between these two. |
Yes! She looks like a horse! |
In the book that scene is the inciting incident for them getting engaged and it's super weird. I was just so relieved they changed it. We don't need another "forced to marry because they get caught in a compromising position" plot. |
+1 Horse face. |
How? Sarah Jessica Parker has horseface not this lady. |
| How old is Eloise supposed to be? She looks like she’s 45. |
he wants a tame woman that he can control |
Yes, plus, Kate is "on the shelf". In the book you know the mother isn't her real mother, but stepmother, which means she is not of noble birth and therefore less (if at all) acceptable. Edwina's mother is from a noble family, which makes her more acceptable to begin with. |
I know. Plus she has a smoker’s voice. She looks way older than Daphne and is supposed to be a teenager?? |

For those who think Kate is not pretty, I think she's very pretty, just not a great casting combination with Anthony (also not great).
A better choice, imo, of look would have been someone like Priyanka Chopra who is more classically beautiful and has more screen-friendly features. |
