What are your kids saying about how many students/teachers masked today (3/1)?

True for adults too. I’m not wearing mine but I was one of a few. I don’t know what these people do out in real life about masking but I expect they might need a few more weeks to feel comfortable or wear it until the last day.

I still wear one to the grocery store and the mall and I have worked from home for 2 years.

Liar. I was waiting for this troll to show up. We all know you are lying.

Not a liar. The teacher posted it in Schoology. I read the post myself. My child doesn't want me to report it because they are scared of repercussions.

This is not permitted under FCPS guidance to teachers/staff. They even sent out lessons/ class meeting materials for all grade levels to address possible peer issues with masked vs unmasked. This teacher is out of line.
The exception to seating would be a student with a health plan being placed away from an unmasked peer.

Troll.

Why are you calling my kid a troll, Karen?

Reporting you for inappropriate use of the term "Karen". If you're going to use it, at least use it in an appropriate context.

Majority at our elementary were masked. Some students were emboldened to unmask when in class with the few unmasked teachers.
Most conversation did not revolve around masks.

My kids wore masks (we're trying to make it to spring break). 1st grader said about half the kids didn't wear masks, but she kept hers on all day. Older child said about 6 out of 25 were maskless and also reported seeing my 1st grader in the hallway without a mask on, LOL!

Forgot to mention that both kids' teachers did not wear masks.

So glad my kids go to the schools we are zoned for. These unmasked numbers at other schools would be disappointing. Grateful for my neighbors.

The only ones who believe the CDC?

Too bad the liberals/democrats/progressives disregard the experts and their science

Exactly. Notice the only nasty comments are towards these kids and coming from the democrats.

That generalization is true.

It is also true of today’s Democrats far beyond just the mask issue.

What has happened to your decency and civility, democrats?

Im honestly disgusted how our kids became figures in a political battle. I never really cared about politics and I absolutely don’t care who my friends vote for, I don’t ask and don’t have a need to share my political opinions. Can’t we just be people? When did masks become political statement? I was honestly sad to see so many teachers in masks, I don’t believe for a second that it is for their safety. These people are vaxxed and triple boosted. My kid went to school happy, he didn’t want to wear a mask and I said it’s ok. We don’t talk politics at home and I never bashed mask wearing in front of them. I said it’s what we need to do and will do until district says it’s ok to stop wearing them. Anyways, he came home and said that the majority of his classmates and his teacher had a mask. I think he felt weird, if he asks to wear a mask again, I’ll absolutely let him. I’m just angry that this political pressure is affecting my 8 year old child.

Hmm. My kid goes there too and said it was about 50/50. Teachers and students.

My Chantilly kid said 1-2 unmasked per class at most. All teachers masked. Mine is a senior, and has a lot to lose by getting COVID a and being at home for two weeks. Maybe the kid seeing a lot unmasked is a freshman.

Agree. Ridiculous. The CDC says ok to not wear masks. But 6th graders are yelling about Youngkin and him being crazy. Done with nonsense of parents on both sides of the aisle.

2nd graders - half maskless because they don't care about anyone but themselves
4th - a few less
6th - all masked except for one. Kids follow what others are doing

Don't ask your kid. If they tell you, fine. If they want to talk about it, fine, listen.

I thought the whole unmasking thing was about letting parents decide what was best for their family. Now you’re telling me it’s best for my family not to discuss public health decisions that ultimately affect us all? That seems hypocritical. Oh, and F—k off.

2x HS kids reported about 50/50. Many more at the end of the day than1st period.

This. I have absolutely no clue because I don't care enough to ask. Everyone gets to make their own choice. Knowing what random kids in their classes do has absolutely no impact on my or my kids' choices.

I have bigger things to worry about.

Good for you. But every family gets to make their own choice means every family gets to decide how to discuss the issue with their kids, and what to discuss, right? Or does every family gets to decide only apply when they make the same decisions as you?
