The kids attending Westfield will live next to other neighborhoods attending Westfield. Right now, the neighborhoods that will likely attend Skyview are separated from the other Westifeld neighborhoods. |
|
Right, moving more Chantilly neighborhoods into Westfield makes so much sense for building a community.
Totally agree! |
Looking at the map, there are currently no attendance islands for Westfield, which means Westfield neighborhoods are not currently separated from each other. |
That's only because the Westfield boundary includes Sully Historic Site, a museum and an airport, which between them have a population of...mumble mumble, math math, carry the two...zero people. If you take those out then Westfield has a massive attendance island consisting of McNair, Coates and most of Floris. |
Funny. Who knew airports, industrial parks and commercial facilities were neighborhoods. |
|
But the same could be said of school zones with large parks, industrial areas, shopping centers, highways, etc. There's nothing peculiar about the Westfield boundary. Most of the boundaries have large areas that aren't residential.
|
The difference is pp wants to make sure her Chantilly area isn't considered "bordering" Westfield even though it in fact borders Westfield because the non-residential areas of Westfield are somehow special and different and so the borders aren't real borders. Its not very logical but she's desperatw to distract from how close her area is. |
No. Not like this. Not miles from the other neighborhoods. |
This. Have you ever tried to get your kid who went to Floris to carpool with his friends, only to learn that they went to Virginia Run? I have. |
This is correct. My kids go to Westfield and it is a humongous hike to go to a friend's house who lives on the other half of the school zone. And during rush hour? Forget it. |
No. No other school school zones are cut completely in half by industrial areas like the Westfield zone. North and south of 50 are completely separated. You know this, you just refuse to admit it because it doesn't support your stance. |
Be specific. Which one do think comes close to the same discrepancy in distance? |
Oakton. |
With Oakton, Madison and Fairfax so close to each other it was inevitable that there would be boundaries extending far to the west with terrible commutes. |
This is a great point. Maps should show correctly residential areas only, eliminate none commercial , historic and parks to truly show its continuity and community. |
