Look, I wish Dr. McKnight the best and hope she heals quickly. Also, I think she is the wrong person for this job. She's far too enmeshed with the bad actors to be a credible "new broom" in a system that badly needs a clean sweeping.

She lost the trust of teachers a while back, and she's lost the trust of many parents and community members in her handling of this mess.

Agree. Not to mention that she’s been in way over her head and seems to lack leadership qualities that the job demands.

The Board of Ed is not exercising meaningful oversight of MCPS and should be dissolved and reconstituted on different terms.

McKnight needs to go.

I get that you have wanted her gone from day one, but the facts just don't warrant it.

Actually the facts do prove she should be gone. She was informed by Murphy. And JB was performing these actions from 2017 until he was required to leave in 2023.

(1) "All of these anonymous complaints were received by DCI, but none were formally investigated because DCI has a long-standing practice of not formally investigating anonymously complaints..."

(2) "[REDACTED] Expressed [REDACTED] Specific Concerns to [REDACTED] About The Risk Of Promoting [REDACTED] . However, [REDACTED] Still Supported The Promotion."

The “risk” of promoting. They thought (and may still think) that they can get away with anything.

Morris is the person who expressed concerns. From what I understand, she did not support his promotion either and witnesses support that.

Nah, seems like the same people never wanted her in the first place and refused to give her a chance.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I gave her a lot of chances and I’m willing to give her one more. If she’s able to implement the action plan, bring in quality administrators, and change the culture, I’ll be happy to support her for another term. If she can’t do those things I won’t support her finishing this one. But the best outcome from mcps is for her to succeed.

There are 12 (acting) positions on the chart.

The chart really highlights the lack of diversity in Central Office.

You believe that? I don’t for a second. She is probably too afraid to show her face in CO or she struck a deal with the board to go out on medical leave rather than actually be fired

Hopefully she has a doctor's note to prove it. After all, teachers must be babysat to prove their sick days are truly being used as sick days!

Hmmmm… she could be so stressed out from this that she needed to be hospitalized, and has requested medical leave. Emotional stress can be a killer, and there are many, many issues that she needs to address. Seems like someone needs to come in and clean house.

Or they want you to think that so the heat is off of her and off the BOE. Who the hell knows.

What would culture change even look like for you? Culture change does not happen over night and is usually accompanied with lots of complaints, particularly if there are people within the org who don’t want the culture changed or don’t believe they need to move their water in any direction.

For me, it would be a culture where rule following is paramount. There can be exceptions to rules, but those exceptions should be made by senior leadership and using a process established in the rules. A change in the rule following culture can happen very quickly, in my experience, but it must start with a clear tone from the top.

That's nonsense. Just because the previous super ignored the Biedleman stuff when it was happening doesn't matter. I get you don't have been on a crusade against McKnight since day one but please try and focus on facts here.
