Because they didn’t realize they should have had their kids enroll in some sports so that can be used as an athlete recruit + $$$ = HYP and top 10 schools. This is what happens at our NE private. |
No suing them for this. The Department of Justice told them they have to provide extended time to students with disabilities under the ADA, and in fact, told them they could no loner flag those scores. Extended time for all could work, but some students will, of course, need other things as well (large type answer sheets, scribes, keyboards, braille, snacks in test room for diabetics) but I assume that isn't going to whip you all up as much as extended time. I assume CB and ACT would seek a DOJ ruling before launching that change. |
NP persecution complex much? |
WAIT diabetic get snacks.... my kids should get snacks too... this is outrageous and unfair. |
No, diabetics get extended time - know of 2 who got 100% extended time |
Um, this was already covered about 20 pages back. He was just elected to the board last year, so he couldn't have helped her. Reading comprehension is your friend. ![]() |
NP wow! where do i begin with your nauseating mental acrobatics? do you know anything about corruption at all? hint; its not a victim less crime. The perpetrator and the recipient have to be on the same page for it to occur, so on what grounds did you come to the conclusion that Huffmann shouldn't serve jail time and the man she potentially sought and to whom she could've said No should be the one to go jail without her? Your comment above is exactly what moral bankruptcy looks like |
Um. I, err, ah, well, let's just say I know a few Jewish Caplans. So they do exist. And they are not this man. |
#FirstWorldProblems Good grief, now I've seen it all. These two opportunists have NOTHING to do with this scandal, yet here they are with their hands out ready to be paid. These two girls think they're entitled to what basically amounts to a $5 million dollar cash grab, simply because they MAY have to deal with future embarrassments because they go to one of the schools caught in the scandal. If they're going to be embarrassed by anything, it's should be for their greedy, opportunistic, entitled litigiousness. |
Obviously the tests reward the ability to answer questions correctly and quickly. Processing speed is an important component of the tests. |
USC said in a statement that they will be reviewing applications of the "students and graduates involved in the scandal" on a case-by-case basis.
They're not saying that they'll automatically be kicked out... |
The children of the wealthy and privileged have always been given special consideration at selective colleges. It’s affirmative action for the rich/connected, although it’s never referred to or criticized as a betrayal of the meritocratic ideal. But set aside even a few spots for members of minorities who have historically been the victims of discrimination, and suddenly it is important not to compromise academia’s strict meritocratic standards. The hypocrisy is breathtaking. |
Like I said. Sephora Has Ended Its Relationship With Olivia Jade "After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately," the spokesperson said. https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2019/03/226932/olivia-jade-sephora-makeup-palette-backlash |

Good job, Sephora! Maybe now this entitled, vapid, spoiled little rich girl and her greedy, hypocritical mother will learn a lesson. |
