I had a BF that blindsided me. Not in this way, but turned out he was not at all the guy I thought he was. And I lived with him!! In hindsight, little things were telling. But they were very little at the time.

Op here: honestly, I think he's in jail or did this on purpose. Only thing confusing me is how his phone is off and still goes straight to VM. And no, it's not just for my number...it's any number which is why I'm confused.

OP, time to call other family members or FB other family members. If literally no one will get back to you, call it a dead end. Also call the Sherrif again and see. But honestly at this point it's clear he's an asshole and I would just move on.

He gave you a number for a burner phone or a Google voice number. There is no way you'd be able to tell differently as burner phones can be smart phones. And the only people who have that number are people related to you.

Op here: I actually FB messaged a couple of people yesterday that I figured were relatives. One younger guy responded to me last night and said he "thinks" he knows who he is and that a lot of them with that last name are all related but don't necessarily all know each other. He said he would ask around for me about him and get back to me if he hears anything.

I am gonna call sheriff back today and ask for wellness check. After that, I don't think there is anything else I can do.

Could he have lost his phone and your number along with it? Could he contact you if he lost your number (does he know your friends' numbers or any thing)? I guess he would email you??

Op here: actually there are ways to tell if the number is Google voice and his wasnt. If you Google his number, it comes up that it's AT&T. Also, I know it's not a burner number either as I was with him in person when he gave his number to multiple people regarding buying a truck.

See, I don't understand why you are willing to invest all this time discussing, but never just calling his work or calling the sheriff back and getting a fast answer. Why not do those things?
