It's kind of extreme. That's why it should be shuttered. These posters are the same people who dump $10k-$20k into prepping their kid to game admissions and feel entitled.

So true!

Nah. It's governor's school so you need governor's approval. HAhaha.

20% of the County contracts and grants must go to Asians and Asian groups. It is not equitable that virtually 0% goes to Asians and Asian groups.

If you want to apply quotas ensuring that the percentage of Asian Americans in various positions reflects the countywide population, are you willing to apply that logic to the percentage of Asian American students at TJ?

Absolutely. 100%.

That would result in a loss of about 200 Asian students per year at TJ.

So some people think they're being discriminated against even though they're the most overrepresented group? Am I missing something?

Yes.

TJ is an opportunity, not an outcome. It’s just a high school, most of the students are legally minors. So I prefer equal opportunity.

Agreed. There are families and communities who choose to make it an outcome because it is such a high priority, and so they engage with the process for six, eight, ten years or more. But that attitude doesn't change the nature of the place or of the opportunity that it provides.

Then they can find a new facility and funding because the school and staff are all FCPS

It is just amazing how smart people are! Genius, my friend.

I don’t like the way my McLean taxes are used by the County and the Board to fund their pork barrel spending. Do what you want with TJ but give McLean High School their due. Find the expansion of the school and do away with spending on name changes and social justice academies. But KKG and ilk have other priorities. Dial in to her town hall today.

All opportunities are the outcome of some prior action or decision. Getting into TJ is the outcome of some such sequence of actions and decisions. This is what there can be no equal opportunity, because it would require equal outcome. There can only be equal protection under the law, which is violated by racist TJ admissions.

I get the sense that you were attempting a logical inference here, but you missed the mark by some distance. Organize your thoughts and make another attempt - I'm genuinely curious what you meant by this.

There are underenrolled high schools in FCPS.

Political, judicial, administrative including educational policies (plus jobs) are more important than 1 magnet high school. Besides, arguing for 70% Asian at TJ while arguing for 20% for everything else is hypocritical like the LWNJs on here. I am not a hypocrite.

These LWNJs don't give a rat's ass when Asians are under-represented, even if extremely under-represented which is the case for all "coveted" "important" positions but they scream bloody murder when Asians are over-represented at TJ.

Yeah let's make a deal. If democrats give 20% of CEO positions for companies in Fairfax county, then they have a deal cutting TJ's Asians to be 20%.

Fairfax Board of Supervisors must represent ALL the citizens of the county. Asians must make up 20% of the Board of Supervisors. Board of Supervisors must be exposed to the benefits of working in a "diverse" environment where they will be exposed to different ethnicities and cultures that is Fairfax County and that will make them a better human being and better government officials. We need Asian Diversity & Inclusion Officer for the Fairfax County appointed immediately to promote Asians in ALL aspects of the County government. We need 20% Asians on the school board. We need 20% of Asian judges in the county. We need 20% Asian judges in the county. We need 20% of top positions in the FCPS. We need Asian principal for TJ not some fumbling fool who cannot think for herself.

I am most interested in the answer to this question. What is going to happen to the kids who applied under the new system this year?

They have to scrap it and do the admissions process all over again for the class of 2026. The woke white racists lost this round. Maybe they will do it right and look at the Black & Hispanic kids in AAP instead of assuming that they all live in the hood.

The racists should give it up and stop wasting taxpayers' money - Jackson plans to recuse herself from Harvard affirmative action case if confirmed https://www.axios.com/ketanji-jackson-recuse-harvard-affirmative-action-feafb865-8bbe-4b07-91e9-181eec07f5fe.html

I agree, close the school now and stop wasting the money.

I'll rephrase, withdraw FCPS from the school, repurpose the building, reassign the FCPS staff and let governor decide what to do with whatever is left.
