Wuhan virus (coronavirus) arrives in the USA

More cases than SARS now and a vaccine more than a year away means more cases in China for certain and likely for the rest of the world. It also means a hit for travel agencies, restaurants, amusement parks, and movie theater chains as people decide to stay home.

. Good point. And the case in Washington state - is the person recovered

Yes that is weird. It has been two weeks? So non of his contacts were sick? That would be a positive

That looks creepy esp with hazmat lady. Hope none of them are sick.

How’d you get photo? And flight was suddenly diverted to army base in Cali. Not original destination where they were meant to stay undercquarantibe for two weeks?

In all likelihood, they will recover. Most people don’t die from this, just like most don’t die from flu.

No gov would want to release info that would cause a panic or if they don’t have a go forward plan for. Prob get more info once they digest the results and formulate a plan they can share.

I saw United say they are reducing. Didn’t see they are cancelling altogether.

It's not creepy, it is prudent.

Public health is damned if they do, damned if they don't.

This is a perfectly normal way to respond to a new, potentially dangerous pathogen to prevent spread. They can either confiscate everyone's phones so no one can take pictures which would set of shouts of "They are covering something up!" or be totally transparent and have people think it is creepy.

They don't know for sure how virulent this coronavirus is, so it makes sense that the health care workers would want to be totally protected in order to volunteer for the flight (or be ordered to). The people on the place have already been exposed in the area they were living/working so it make less sense (probably also they don't know have enough suits....)

China shows us why this is wrong.

Also, the CDC does release this information, as do other governments. But the timing for results has been strange.

Well some try to hide it to get out. See this https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/jan/23/chinese-tourist-says-she-evaded-coronavirus-checks-fly-france

I guess if you are there, one would do anything to get out and get treated at a less crowded hospital.

Agree. Two weeks with no update on the first case.

I assume they're still hospitalized. Some of the people who have recovered in China were hospitalized for weeks or a month.
