So what happens when the Federal government can’t issue Nov Food Stamps?

Jesus would teach a person who is able to support themselves not to be on welfare their whole lives, unlike the intergenerational welfare we have now.

You are not "owed".

I believe his primary commandment was to love.

Not making people who are perfectly capable of independence, dependent on others is love. Tough love, but love nonetheless.

It's a safety net. Most people are on it temporarily. This idea that the program is full of people who do not need it is not based in reality. Making people in need out to be lazy moochers isn't love, tough or otherwise.

1 Undocumented people pay taxes.

2 Why does the GOP think that withholding food aid from people who need it is a good idea in terms of public policy, let alone human decency.

UNDOCUMENTED PERSONS CANNOT BE AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR SNAP. SNAP FRAUD IS LESS THAN 1%.

USDAs collection that Rollins champions is a thin guise for tracking lawful SNAP recipients’ personal data (mostly children, elderly, and disabled) and sending that data (SSNs, addresses, DOB, ethnicity, etc.) to ICE, DOJ, and Planatir.

They DO have the money. They have $6b which can expressly be used for funding SNAP. Unless the Trump administration unlawfully stole the money for something else, which wouldn't surprise me.

No they don’t. Judge McConnell, in his order, admits they don’t have 6 billion. If they did, McConnell would not have ordered the administration to pay for SNAP benefits by finding money from other allocated funds (which is blatantly unconstitutional). This is damning. We need to investigate where the Snap reserves went, if there were any.

Did the historically corrupt Biden administration gift them away? Because people are going to starve because of this level of corruption.

#1 explains that the $6 bn of contingency funds are available from the 2025 and 2025 appropriations and that President Trump has previously issued guidance "indicating that these contingency funds are available if SNAP funds lapse due to a government shutdown" .

#2 explains that will not equal the total amount necessary.

#3 explains that Congress created SNAP as an entitlement and cites the legal precedents for why the full benefits have to be paid

#4 explains that the administration has and additional $23 bn available and is authorized to use from "section 32"(a slush fund created in Depression era that is funded by tariff revenues).

Are you advocating for a Christian nationalist government? Sure seems like it.

Christian ≠ Christian Nationalists

Newsflash: God doesn't care if America is a Christian nation.

Go on, read your Bible and find out

So you are angry because the USDA sent a nice reminder about the laws established by our democratically elected legislature?

What would you prefer, federal law enforcement raiding grocery stores and arresting cashiers for breaking the law?

Call your senators and ask them to vote yes on the continuing resolution, and this will be fixed. It’s becoming very clear that the democrats only care about their wealthy voter base and could care less about normal people.

A store owner or manager who has an elderly and/or disabled customer they know is on SNAP for reasons they know if don’t know can’t just decide to let the individual pay a low flat fee for their groceries or even take them home for free? And it’s the store owner or manager’s (approved by the owner) choice?

So the GOVERNMENT can step in and slap their hands for helping the person? Sounds like Communism to me.

Private business. If I run a donut shop and want to give the homeless guy on the corner a cup of coffee and free donut every morning, it’s my right to do so as I damn well please.

You are cruel and into authoritarianism.

Of course you would be.

We see who is at fault and moves like this will make it very clear to the general public.

There is a law on the books that prohibits pricing food based on whether a customer is paying with EBT or not. You can disagree with that law, but the answer to that is to go in, vote to reopen the government, and then introduce a bill to change that law. Private businesses still have to operate under the law.

The USDA sending a helpful reminder before enforcing this law is the correct thing to do.

At least we’re taking care of the poor Argentinians, following the wishes of our thoughtful Dear Leader. My thoughts and prayers are for only them in their time of need. 🙏
