I am 4’10 , and I hate it . I wish I was 5’4 . I even thought of limb lengthening surgery
At my height I deal with a ton of infantilization by both men , and women . Despite being in my late 30s I often get mistaken for a child It’s extremely hard to maintain being thin at my height since my bmr is low . Unfortunately I have high appetite, and eat more than bigger people Lastly when men say they like short women they mean women in the 5’0-5’4 range . At my height I attract creepy men who seem hebophilic . I also get hit on a lot by very short guys who only want me because I’m the only girl shorter than them in the room |
I'm 5'0 and I like my height. 4'10 is very short, so your experience is on the extreme side. Even at 5'0 it's very hard to be thin because every ounce shows and at least for me, I can't manage to be thin. I'm ok with it. |
| I'm 5'4" and feel short. I wish I were two to four inches taller. |
|
I am 5’11 . I would rather be your height than my height .At my height I get mistaken for a man or a transgender woman . Most men are repulsed by women my height , even tall men avoid tall women . The grass is not greener . At least you can wear heels , there’s nothing I can do to become shorter besides reincarnation
Plus women are pressured to look younger . I find that petite women maintain the youthful look for longer . While tall women appear old even if we have baby faces . I looked 25 years old at 16 years purely based off my height |

I'm 5'2" and I'm mostly ok with it. Things I dislike.
*having to shop only where they sell petite length pants - especially jeans. *tall people who stand in front of me at concerts *standing next to very tall (5'10"-6") female colleagues |
| I’m 5’ and I don’t hate it but I wish I was taller. |
| I’m 5’ and I wish I were 5’4” because is difficult to find clothes and go to parties/bars/concerts. |
| I'm 5' and I mostly prefer being short. The only thing I hate is what you touched on, how hard it is to stay small. A gain of five pounds means none of my clothes fit. |
| You've got Simone Biles beat by 2 whole inches. Hit the gym, get fit, get confident. |
| I’m 5 foot 1 and agree about the weight gain struggles. It’s easy for me to look matronly even if my bmi is in the healthy range. I just had a baby in November. Her father is 6 foot 5. I’m hoping she gets some of his height. |
| I am 5'2 and never felt especially short. My dd is your height and she has developed pretty thick skin from other teens and even adults making dumb comments. It helps that she works out a lot so people assume she is a gymnast/athlete (which she is as she also runs track and cross country) |
| I'm 4'11" and I hate it! I'm 34 and baby-faced so I look a lot younger than I actually am. I work in a male-dominated industry and am sometimes not taken seriously by clients. It's also hard to buy fashionable clothes and if I gain five pounds it looks like I gained 20 pounds! Finally, I'm never referred to as "hot" or "pretty." Instead, I am "cute" like a goddamn toddler. |
| Are your parents short too? |
What? I’m tall and never had the issues you describe. Also have many tall friends and have never, ever heard this. |
| 5’2 and I’d like to be at least 5’5. I hate being the shortest in a group and I hate that when I buy pants I have to go straight to the tailors for hemming. |
