She's fantastic. I think she's the most likable of the prospects, and someone he feels he can trust, which matters a lot to Joe. Green in some key respects, but almost none of the prospects have much in the way of foreign policy experience. If he has a full term to mentor her, she could do well. |
Joe will never really trust Kamala again. I’m sure he’s still feeling her gut punch. |
I cannot wait to have a woman VP, they’ve got my vote regardless who it is! |
If he think he really needs her to win, he'll suck it up, but I agree he's not likely to fully trust her. |
She’d throw his little arse out to the dog house on Day One. Lol. He’d be regulated to sniffing interns all day, every day. |
President Biden picked Vice President Klobuchar months ago. |
Harris isn't AA and not terribly popular. |

OP-ed--Black women are insisting on a black woman. |
An op-ed written by one far-left black activist. I wouldn't consider that to represent mainstream AA opinion. |
?????It was written by SIX Black women. Did you even read it? |
Here's the problem with that thought. Black women are going to vote for Biden. There is no way that they are going to vote for Trump. They might pull a Bernie Bros move and "protest" by not voting, but that wouldn't be wise as votes like that only increase the chances that you'll reelect the most racist POTUS that we've had in decades. Biden is the challenger and even in these difficult times, the incumbent has an advantage. Right now, there are many signs that give each an advantage and some that show them neck-and-neck, so it is pretty close. Biden needs to convert the independent and moderate voters that are at risk to vote for Trump. He needs to ensure that voters who may vote for Trump either stay home or vote for him. Having a VP candidate like Lujan Grisham or Cortez Masto court the Latino vote which is very much in play for both sides. Klobuchar and Whitmer court the Midwest, which are also in play. While I understand that black women want validation for their years of devoted support, right now, that is not politically wise. |
This. Which is why even black leaders like Clyburn won't insist the VP be a black woman. They understand better than the op-ed writers that there are complex issues at play. If polls determine white suburban and working class voters, especially in the rust belt, are the key to the election, Biden and his team will go with a VP pick who polls best with that demographic. I do think Biden will keep his word and put forward a black woman for the Supreme Court, and will make sure his cabinet is diverse though. Clyburn et al trust him on that, but they understand the strategy for the VP pick must put winning first. |
Does anyone besides me think that the opinion piece is a little racist?
"Black women are the soul of America." ????? Isn't this a little exclusionary? |
