I can’t see a scenario in which anyone else besides the VP-elect would become POTUS in that case.

Yes. Trump would hold office until January 20, 2021. And the VPOTUS-elect would be sworn in on inauguration day, January 21, 2021.

Although I like Warren, Harris, and Whitmer for different reasons, it absolutely comes down to progressive vs AA vs heartland strategy. Although any one of these could be a reasonable play, I suspect picking someone who does not represent the coastal elite will be the play. Young, telegenic, politics jibe perfectly with Joes's: my money is on Whitmer. I much prefer her to Klobuchar's dullness and poor managerial style.

anyone? anyone?

The fact that this question is even being considered speaks volumes about the presumptive Democratic candidate.

Biden seems more healthy than Trump.

It actually speaks volumes about the way in which far right wing messaging gets taken up into the “mainstream” media and pushed so hard that it becomes the de facto messaging.

+1. I'm sick of liberal media giving attention to fringe cr@p like this because "balance." Fox doesn't give balanced treatment to anything. I'm not saying liberal media should ignore valid, solid, corroborated stories. But for God's sake, be a little more critical of people like Reade and Eva Murry before you give them a platform for weeks.

I think it would go to the house majority leader.

And I agree that Biden looks healthier than Trump. I mean, far healthier, but people who support Trump probably won’t admit it.

Yeah Biden isn't obese and chowing down on McDonalds daily to make matters worse.

Kamala did a live Insta with Ayanna Pressley yesterday. AP was very detailed and data driven with her policy positions, honestly KH did not seem like she could keep up and barely got a word in edgewise. Being a prosecutor entails a very different skill set. I don't think she has the policy chops, at least not yet, and ran a disaster of a campaign, raising concerns about her managerial skill. I get she checks boxes, but I think it would be a mistake for Biden to pick her. She's not a great retail politician and has a weak grasp on policy.

She's really sharp. Agree she's too green, but Harris came off as even greener in conversation. I keep looking for it, but see no evidence of policy chops.

That would explain why Whitmer was on The View. Her name isn't recognizable to commonfolk that don't touch politics. I was amused to see the ramp of up publicity as we get closer to Nov.
