For most of us this club is a big commute, and for a bit it was worth it. Definitely no longer, and I can only see it getting worst — especially considering the warnings of parents from last year… All the issues they had pointed to have exponentially deteriorated.

For parents reading this, you’ve been warned.

I’m jumping in here in defense of PP. I am the person who wrote the very first post in this TSJ thread less than a year ago. I can confirm that this previous poster’s recounting a few posts back is 100% accurate and has been our identical experience. And we are in the North. I didn’t believe that one man could burn down a club. Sadly it is all absolutely true. And heartbreaking. And no, we are not returning.

And the infantile response here to PP which I am nearly positive is from the club who spends a lot of time on this board is pretty indicative of the spirit and tone of this club. And I promise you, childish words and mistruths will be the least of your problems. Parents, you’ll do what you want to do and you may decide on calculated risk as we had, but yes, you’ve been warned. I get it: it really is hard to comprehend the level of dysfunction, toxicity, lack of integrity, and chaos without experiencing it for yourself. Enter at your own risk.

And there are maybe 2 good folks left so if you are reading this, thank you for all you try to do for our players in the face of insurmountable odds. I hope you know who you are because you are good coaches with good hearts. We will miss you. And I really hope you have not been beaten into thinking otherwise about yourselves.

If first post and this post are really the same person, so much has changed in less than a year.

The tsj maybe intentionally trying to end the north program. It's not profitable for them and that's why they didn't purchase a field somewhere as they promised. They also failed in Reston. The side gigs they foster don't do very well and with the blow up last year, it's even worse. The teams barely competed with ga. They continue to cut out resources and don't support the teams

Bingo. This. But then they tell the most insane lies about it all to keep try to keep the families from leaving and recruit more. While the level of incompetence would lead one to believe it must be intentional because no organization could actually be this bad, I really think it comes down to: a) an equity firm just trying to make money and far removed from the day to day b) the worst human on the planet at the operational helm.

Does TSJFC Chantilly also share some of these concerns or are they run like a separate entity? Can anyone provide any insight? I am a current travel parent of a U little boy looking to switch it up.

My experiences are with the GA North program. I can’t speak to the boys side.

They are cleaning house and working to create a friendly and supportive culture.

The toxic parents have mostly left
but some still remain. I hope they can change their ways and adapt to the new culture BC is trying to create.

BC and his team want to teach GREAT soccer. Not track. Not boot it ball.

They are offering extra programming that my friends in other clubs have to find private trainers for. Rigorous summer training schedule, strength training, conditioning, futsal, nutrition.

BC & other new coaches say they see soccer as training for life. I agree.

I’ve met new families and seen quality players. Of those I’ve met, which certainly isn’t everyone, new players have come from other local clubs. A few are new to the area.

GA Director is amazing, passionate, and seems very sincere. I hope he can bring his vision to life.

We have our fields, trainings and events locked for the summer. Not yet sure about the fall as is typical of most clubs. We are pretty sure we know where we will be but it needs to be confirmed. We do not have our own “home” and I don’t know when/if we will. I’m okay with that for the time being but maybe not forever. For now it’s fine for us.

Club is going through a period of change. I am ok with that because I see a lot of great seeds being planted.

Wow. This is the very first post in the thread written only 10 months ago. One of the worse takes of all time. I feel bad this new parent had to find out the hard way. But it does show that there is a constant supply of unsuspecting parents who will listen and believe promises.

Kind of sad to read that now. I too stayed and was full of hope. They have made it very hard to maintain hope this year. Very hard. I don't know anyone on our team that stayed for the rebuilding with us that is planning on staying. It's really sad because I do honestly believe it would take very little to fix the things that are broken. There ARE some great coaches and Kristin being in charge of GA is a fantastic asset. But, unfortunately they keep losing more and more good people and treat the people who have been loyal like crap. I really want them to be successful. And I do believe a lot of the issues are found other places too.

No 2016s…

Tuesday was 2017s. Looked like 4. Showing off the facilities they will never get to actually use.

Did Pruden lowkey eff up his career by leaving Loudoun to join FCV/TSJ? Or was he fired by O’Hara and Ryan?

Is he even still here? I'm not even sure since I don't have a lot of insight into boys stuff. Honestly, he's a great administrator so it would suck if we lost another great person.

Can someone explain to me what is currently going on with St. James Soccer on the boys’ side, both south and north? Tryouts are a ghost town, is there a reason? Are they now splitting into 3 clubs divisions- Loudoun, Chantilly , Fairfax/Springfield?

I have no specific info but hasn’t it always been split across 3 locations? I think they either call the teams North or South but at least one team based out of Chantilly is called North. I guess because that is north compared to Springfield.

We stayed away because their structure just doesn’t make sense to me. There are different pools of kids for their North vs South, which can mean one team is much stronger than the other in the same age group. I would not want to travel from Loudoun/Chantilly to Springfield or vice versa just to get the right fit, when there are other clubs that all practice in the same place. They should just consolidate to Springfield and be done with it.

I thought there were only two - South and North and their pre-academy teams were the top teams. No more?

Last year he went 0-8 in district play with his Broad Run HS team

Not sure what Broad Run's district record has to do with anything, but to jump from a sinking ship captained by the two aforementioned is about the smartest thing a coach could do given recent developments.
