Yet everyone on pages 1-4 tried to shame OP for asking

Not everyone. I was saying she should wait and see from the very beginning.

We arrived this morning. Absolutely no indication that a hurricane was ever here.

Yep. And yesterday was crazy low crowds. It will be interesting to see how crowded (or not) today is. I bet a lot of locals have cabin fever.

Disney never.

The best trip to Disney was one we took when a hurricane was forming and slated to hit Orlando in the middle of our trip. We took the gamble and went anyway and just packed some extra snacks and games thinking we’d be stuck in our Disney room for a day or so. The storm ended up turning at the last minute, so we had no issues, but enough people had canceled that the parks were really light in August - no lines.

In general August crowds are super light because of the heat and most southern states are back to school.

We love Disney (we have DVC and are AP holders) but you couldn’t pay me enough to go in August. We went once with friends and the heat was truly horrible.

It’s hit or miss. We had a great trip one August that was way less hot than our trip in July a few years prior. And August crowds are way better than July crowds. I would still go in August but my kids are older and have sports now.

I think we just got unlucky. It felt like 105. We’re usually rope drop to fireworks people, but we had to go back by 1pm because we couldn’t handle it. Even the cast members were saying it was unusually horrible.
