They're closing at 1 tomorrow.

Yes, they just announced it.

They’ll likely be closed on Thursday as well.

My guess is Friday they’ll open. There’s no rain in the forecast at all for Orlando on Friday or beyond.

As other posters have pointed out, rain is the least of our concern. Downed trees or debris blocking roads, assessing potential damage to buildings and rides, will all take time to sort out.

Finding and handling displaced wildlife too.

I think the longest Disney has closed for a storm has been 2.5 days.

I believe the parks only closed for one day, which is pretty miraculous, considering all the damage in central Florida from that storm. I think a bigger issue depending on when travel is- is the ability to get there.

I think you're spot on, Disney will be up and running by this weekend.

It doesnt mean you should go.

This. It’s just gross.

No it isn’t. Once an area is determined to be fully operational, businesses would actually like to conduct business. Otherwise, they would stay closed.

The biggest risk in Orlando is not the winds (far from the Gulf) but flooding. They expect 8-15" of rain in a span of 8 hours. But... Disney runs their own stormwater management and is going to manage a lot better than other areas of Orlando.

I don’t know where you’re seeing 8-15’’ of rain in Orlando. The forecast I see shows about 6-7” between Wednesday and Thursday.

communities along and north of the center will see 8”-15” of rain inside of 8 hours, leading to flash flooding which could enter homes.

Ugh Florida is a horrible state. And Disney is so cheugy. No one from my circle has ever been. It seems to be a very LMC experience.

Right. I'm a Tampa Bay pp. Us on the north side of this are going to have a rain event. And Orlando/Kissimmee is literally swampland-it does flood there. Disney handles their stuff really well, I agree.

To those wanting to travel here this weekend-yes the weather does look good, you have to monitor flights though because there could be delays once the airports reopen.

Exactly, these places depend on tourist dollars. Why deprive them of that?

Disney just announced they will be closed all day Thursday. No update about Friday, so as it stands now, they will be open.

For those of you going on Friday... let's see.
