You are correct, that last year or this year was probably the best year to try and move to a Maryland team. However, like many have said Capital is a similar caliber and if your daughter is good enough to make a top Maryland team she should be good enough to make Capital. Even if she doesn’t play for Pride or Stars, have her go to the Capital clinics to get her on the radar. You don’t have to play for stars or Pride to make Capital, but you also can’t expect to show up, unknown, at the one day tryout and think you will get a fair shake. Too hard to evaluate 160 girls in that amount of time. A known commodity has an advantage regardless of club affiliation. The top Maryland teams will have as many kids at tryouts next year, so your chances aren’t any better there

I thought the MD teams shut down open tryouts after 7th grade - at least I think Heros does.

Only Heros does that to my knowledge

They do, but you can reach out and likely get invited to a practice, they add talent as needed.

Hero's parent... they shutdown tryouts following 8th grade/summer pre-high school. But as said, if you're DD is good enough, there's always a chance to get a look. Make contact with the coach to try and get a look. Easier to latch onto the white team as girls who aren't interested in continuing their lax career are more likely to quit and there aren't cuts once you get to HS.

Checked in after a week for some lacrosse predictions. I see it's devolved into a clown show. Caviar wasn't the wittiest. "tomfoolery" is a good word though.

Only chance for DC to play MD would be in the playoffs. DC's division gets 3 playoff spots, but seems like a long shot as DC would need to make it (currently 0-2) and then everything else would have to be just so. Routing for all the local girls!
