You are correct, that last year or this year was probably the best year to try and move to a Maryland team. However, like many have said Capital is a similar caliber and if your daughter is good enough to make a top Maryland team she should be good enough to make Capital. Even if she doesn’t play for Pride or Stars, have her go to the Capital clinics to get her on the radar. You don’t have to play for stars or Pride to make Capital, but you also can’t expect to show up, unknown, at the one day tryout and think you will get a fair shake. Too hard to evaluate 160 girls in that amount of time. A known commodity has an advantage regardless of club affiliation. The top Maryland teams will have as many kids at tryouts next year, so your chances aren’t any better there
