Sorry. I misunderstood then. Glad they know which team they made at least |
| What is better for HS: a top MD team or Capital? |
| Equal. Capital Blue competes with the top MD clubs. |
Agree it is equal. I would take any of them However, I will say that Capital does a better job of showcasing all players. The only other club that also does that good off a job was Hero’s. Skywalkers and M and D love to always go for the win |
Ugh. Wish I had moved my DD from her team this year. Nice to get into MD club before a billion kids try out for Capital. |
If you are worried about making Capital, then you may not want to head to a Baltimore club. It’s even harder as they are established teams and only taking a few girls at best each year, not a whole team like Capital. |
Trying it for Capital is not that scary. If your daughter is on Pride or Stars to teams for 28s, they stand a good chance at one of the two teams |
| What Baltimore clubs have the best HS programs? |
Sign up for all of the tryout clinics and get her to Healthy Baller classes with the right instructor asap |
Traditionally, Skywalkers, M&D, Heros, and Maryland United. The 2028s also have coppermine, but they are new to the game and haven’t proven their recruiting track record yet. |
Who are the right instructors? Sorry to be so dense. |
I just wish we had given the MD teams a look which we did not. I guess the grass is always greener, but it seems like they are solid programs. |
You are correct, that last year or this year was probably the best year to try and move to a Maryland team. However, like many have said Capital is a similar caliber and if your daughter is good enough to make a top Maryland team she should be good enough to make Capital. Even if she doesn’t play for Pride or Stars, have her go to the Capital clinics to get her on the radar. You don’t have to play for stars or Pride to make Capital, but you also can’t expect to show up, unknown, at the one day tryout and think you will get a fair shake. Too hard to evaluate 160 girls in that amount of time. A known commodity has an advantage regardless of club affiliation. The top Maryland teams will have as many kids at tryouts next year, so your chances aren’t any better there |
I thought the MD teams shut down open tryouts after 7th grade - at least I think Heros does. |
Only Heros does that to my knowledge |
