Revealing affair

Anonymous
I emailed the other betrayed spouse that their spouse and my spouse had an affair. I went back and forth about whether or not I should contact them but I felt a huge sense of relief once I shared the truth. I was no longer holding onto our cheating, lying spouses’ secret. I have enough sh!t to deal with in this awful aftermath and I refuse to safeguard others’s lies and betrayals. Sharing in case anyone else is in a similar situation. Free yourself!

Good for you. Silence would have made you complicit in a very effed up way. I'm sorry for what you're going through. My dh/stbx AP is divorced. If the AP were married you're darn tootin' I would let her spouse know.

Congratulations on possibly destroying children’s lives with a bitter divorce that might not have otherwise happened if you didn’t feel the need to insert yourself into other’s lives.

This is worse than cheating. You are directly possibly causing trauma for kids that may not have happened otherwise. Marriage is about much more than sex.

People should mind their own business.

-never cheated

When did you find out? How long it took you to decide to contact the other spouse?

Wow, talk about blaming the victim!
If someone's spouse is cheating on them, they have the right to know.

Hold on. It’s the fault of the cheaters, who didn’t give a second thought to the stability and welfare of their children or spouses. Let’s not blame the victim here. The marriages were broken the moment those people decided to cheat.

You are a selfish, and likely drama-prone, person. No wonder you got cheated on.

Did the same.

I don’t GAF what happens to their family just like they don’t care what happened to my family.

They created this problem, not me.

A-holes don’t like to take responsibility for their actions. FAFO
