Metro United

I tend to agree. We know what we have. We know the improvements that have been made. I feel nothing but excitement for the changes I see. Let's enjoy our year, watching our kids grow and get better and let player #20 on her vaunted club enjoy her position of bench. My DD played well yesterday. Watching her grow and play, knowing she loves her team and that she can trust her coach, that's all I want.

When you start stooping to troll level you lose. Not a MU or FCV parent. Just a parent who hopes other parents will stop hiding behind anonymity to run kids down. Keep in mind that many of our kids actually look in DCUM because they hear parents talk about it. I will never understand the MU or FCV anger. If you do not like these clubs then leave but remember there are kids in these clubs who are trying.

Posts like this make me laugh. It was a good experience today. Richmond United was a good challenge. We are new to MU and it’s been a great experience. Why do you care who we play?

Tying Richmond 05 is a good job. Nicely done MU!

Richmond 05 is ranked no. 18 in Virginia. Getting a tie against them is nothing to boast about. Bethesda ECNL beat them 5-1.

Just so I have this right. Missing 5 players, all of whom play on the back line or the 6. Four of whom are starters. Matters not. Any team should just walk on a field and handle that plus being down a man? Why not just worry about whichever team you pay and it's newly bloated roster?

Why was 1/3 of the team missing? Lack of commitment? Injuries? Sending the coach a message? Why did the entire back line not show up for this game?

What would the score have been if MU had all of their starters? Why would results have been if they did not have to play short handed for 15 minutes?

Lack of commitment?!!!! Lot of families go on vacay before school starts- they live rather than live in DCURBAN anonymous forums

Metro is committed to smaller rosters. The downside is that during summer vacation some players may not be available for a friendly which can leave a team short handed. The upside is the players got plenty of playing time and development.

That’s the trade off. Metro families are choosing development and playing time. Other families are choosing bench time and wins. It’s up to you to decide what is important to your DD’s development.

Who cares what the score was? It was pre-season friendly match. it was not for crown of the VA soccer.

Even if they had all starters been there, I would expect MU (& RU) to try various formations and position changes (big or small). I'm very interested to see how a team plays down a man with no subs and creates additional challenges you don't normally see at their level until it's potentially too late.

As an aside, MU will also not have re-entry at half, while RU will, so very different game they may be playing once the season starts.

Instead of bashing each other, let’s have the scores speak for themselves in a month.

Or, how about this. If you are happy at your club with your team you don't need to worry about the scores of other clubs and their teams.

MU is not a strong club. Fact. The amount of attacks the club takes from people is pretty astounding. They are not threat to you or your club and people just act like they are offended that the club exists at all.

Worry about your kid and your club and don't worry about preseason scrimmage scores.

And to those who come up with the lame argument of "I want to know the scores and the age groups because I am interested in the vitality of the club". No, no you're not. If you are truly interested you would reach out to parents you may know at the club. It is a small world and it is unlikely that someone doesn't know somebody at any particular club to reach out to. You would visit a practice, you might watch a game. You might look no further than rankings and standings, but you would never really make any decision based on what is said in an online forum.

I was simply curious, because I thought that it was strange that one of the previous posters claimed that 5-6 MU's defenders, including all 4 starters, were missing. I can understand that many families take vacations in August, but it was a bit strange that the entire defensive line was not there. Perhaps it was just a coincidence that all defenders took vacation the same week.

Ok Dr. Watson. Take a step back for a second. If they wanted to lie to you they could have just told you they won the game vs Richmond United. Right? You would be none the wiser. Think about it.
