Metro United

When people ask about the results from other age groups maybe its because they want to know the strength of the entire club. Not just your daughters team.

For what? I'm still not understanding. The only results posted were the U15s.

U14, U16, U17, U18 scores?

Because they played well, short staffed, with a new mix of players, playing together for the first time, against deep Richmond United teams. On a fricking hot day! To me - that earns a great job.

So they participated.

5-5 score even playing 10v11 for 15 min. You say this? Sure troll.

Ok. The U15s, with 10 players on a hot summer day, came away with a tie. Is that all we are allowed to ask about?

U14, U16, U17, U18?

Perhaps that is the only score the person knows?

Is there a age group in particular you are interested in?

U14 and U16[/quot
Metro lost both U14 and U16 games by a score of 0-40. Happy now? Move along.

I heard it was 2:63 and 5 six year olds played U16

LOL. Exactly. They don’t post scores and trust me none of the parents are running around in 95 degrees to get all the scores. So while I understand the desire to post the scores here unless it’s a coach I doubt any parent on this board knows all the scores. Just wait for the season to start.

It is true that once the season starts the scores and rosters will be posted for everyone to see.

MU parents should avoid falling into the trap of Spirit parents of blaming the play ups for all that ails them.

I don't think anyone did, until I bought up cutting players, moving some to PT (formerly DP) and dropping some black to their more appropriate age group. Then one parent - surely the parent of a play up, since a couple have historically patrolled this board - ignored everything else and focused on that. Which I still think until MU proves itself competitive, it's nonsense to play up some of the remaining players. However, it's still better than last year. Smaller rosters, less players (at age or otherwise) being rostered, and more intense practices.

I also think it's nonsense that playing up at MU equals playing at age elsewhere. The girl who moved to Arlington will have a good experience because she's a goalie and because it's a well run club. It's a bit far for us, but I think they are well run and run right. They keep small rosters, they develop their people and they don't just throw them away for the next thing, they way I have heard FCV and BRYC do.

As for those who moved to STJ, all I can say is good luck. Your DD will need it to get off their bench.

Interesting that they went all the way to Richmond for some preseason games with several other ECNL teams in their back yard. Plus Pipeline of course. Why?

Posts like this make me laugh. It was a good experience today. Richmond United was a good challenge. We are new to MU and it’s been a great experience. Why do you care who we play?

I’m hoping all soccer teams out there have a great season and most importantly the players are having fun.

The same reason people watch train wrecks.

Richmond 05 is ranked no. 18 in Virginia. Getting a tie against them is nothing to boast about. Bethesda ECNL beat them 5-1.

Not boasting but its a good thing for MU, on a very hot day to play a man down the last 15 min and Richmond having a decent amount of subs.
Metro will only improve with more trainings and better coaching.

Better coaching than what? Don’t they have the same coach?

Just so I have this right. Missing 5 players, all of whom play on the back line or the 6. Four of whom are starters. Matters not. Any team should just walk on a field and handle that plus being down a man? Why not just worry about whichever team you pay and it's newly bloated roster?

Why do Metro parents even feed this mess? The parents from other clubs asking have no bearing on anything going on at Metro. And neither do the coaches from TSJFCV (cute unis BTW, the logo is missing a comma) prowling for more players to add to the exploding rosters.
