President Joe Biden on Wednesday evening told more than 20 Democratic governors in a private meeting that he underwent a medical checkup after last week’s debate and is fine, according to three people with knowledge of the discussion. During an hour-long meeting prompted by intensifying concerns about his health and political viability, one governor asked Biden about his physical condition. The president mentioned having had a checkup in recent days and asserted that he remains in good health, knocking on wood for effect, according to two of those people, who were granted anonymity to describe a private meeting. That statement came just hours after press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sidestepped direct questions from reporters who asked if he’d been examined since the debate. “The president has regular annual physicals that we release in a thorough report,” she said. “We’re going to continue to do that.” Biden’s remark, according to a person familiar with the president’s schedule, was in reference to a short checkup by a White House physician in the days following the debate due to lingering symptoms from his cold. The exam, that person added, was brief and did not include any major tests. Does this address the concerns about Biden’s health satisfactorily? |
No. Biden needs to face reality. He’s just too old. He’s in very good health for his age. But he needs to let it go. |
LOL. No. Not "check up" is going to allay the concerns. He needs to have a live interview with a true journalist.... not some influencer or late night host.... and perform well. He needs to have a press conference where he is free to call on reporters who are not prescreened and doesn't tell them that he is "going to get in trouble" for answering questions. No list of preapproved reporters for him. And, he needs to perform well. In a nutshell..... he needs to do what other modern day presidents have done. |
I agree. He needs to hold press conferences and answer questions from reporters. The interview with George Snuffleupagus is going to be taped and edited. When is Biden going to take questions from reporters? |
Sure he did. You have access to the best medical care in the world and the answer to brain freezes is "nothing to see here."
If he was working as a lawyer, he would retire. The same with any other profession, CEO, doctor, etc. But he can be the President. He's become a caricature of aging. Denial of loss of ability, all too common. |
My father just had a checkup. Doctor said he was physically in excellent shape for a 76 year old man. My father also has Parkinsons. You can be in excellent physical shape and have cognitive decline. The two are not mutually exclusive. It's words that matter here.
And very likely that whoever checked up Biden was ordered to stay clear of certain areas like his brain. The doctor just ran the blood tests and did a basic check up. |
People are looking for an independent cognitive exam. Which he refuses. |
Joe said he had a check up after the debate.
KJP said he has not had a check up since his February physical. Who is lying? |
C’mon, folks.
Who are you going to believe? The White House or your own eyes? |
Every single one of them. Step Down Joe!! |
They will avoid press conferences with Q&A, same as always. Which is why the debate stands out so much. They have consistently shielded his infirmity from the public but then scheduled a much earlier debate than usual and let it all hang out. Once the damage to Biden was done, they will now shield him from further embarrassment and allow him a dignified exit. |
Exactly this. |
He had a cognitive exam last week witnessed by 50 million people. The results are in. He is impaired mentally and has been for some time. |
Trump is only 3 years younger and in worse health than Biden given he's morbidly obese, is addicted to junk food, and has far more of a family history of alzheimers and cardiac issues than Biden's family.. |
