Let me explain it for the PPs arguing above me:

It's because Biden, like many elderly people, has an uneven decline. Some days are good, some are not good. Given his performance at the State of the Union, his aides and relatives erroneously thought that with sufficient adrenaline, for an important-enough event, he could still surmount any obstacle. They were wrong. It was the proof they were lacking that even when the stakes are high, he can miss the mark. Sadly for them, it was a very publicly humiliating proof.

Actually, I'm pretty sure there's a Biden aide or Biden grandkid agonizing right now and saying "I told you so". But let's say the consensus was dead wrong.

I blame his aides, wife and relatives for not stopping him when he said he wanted to run again. They should have known better. Power went to their heads.

All that posse needs to go. Install Kamala and her team (which, like all VP teams, were kept carefully out of the loop).

If Biden wanted to dispel the talk about his debate performance and prove he is capable, he should have hit the interview circuits in the days after the debate. That ship has sailed. I suspect he didn’t do it because he isn’t capable of doing it.

And the media has totally minimized and ignored Trump's obvious mental decline. Unscripted, Trump can't even manage to talk for 5 minutes without interrupting himself a dozen times and going off on bizarre incoherent rants about sharks or having to flush the toilet 10 times or whatever other wild nonsense.

The 90-minute debate was unscripted. Biden was incoherent and clearly has mentally declined in the years since his election;
Trump was coherent and could respond to questions in a way that made sense.

No. Biden needs to face reality. He’s just too old. He’s in very good health for his age. But he needs to let it go.

Trump is as old as Biden and can't manage to talk for 3 minutes without interrupting himself repeatedly or going off on some incoherent rant. He needs to go.
