I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been looking for outdoor rugs since last night.

I mean people with taste already do.

+1 This is nothing new, really backyard furniture is a novelty?

Right? It... didn't look like a living room? I'm poor by DCUM standards and I have backyard furniture...

Oh, wow! I didn't think the Queen or Phillip/their courtiers would even feel the need to deny it, but I guess they did. William and Charles must really be feeling the pressure.

No, the Queen didn't deny this.

This was Oprah's clarification, "at Harry's request".

They really don't want the Queen to cut them off.

So say we all.

LOL, thank you for getting that even though I botched it!

If he was old enough to school they would have refused to pay for it.

This is bullshit. Archie is the great grandchild of the Monarch. No great grandchildren have princely titles. That is how it is. When they become grandchildren of the monarch - when Charles ascends to the throne - they will get security.

Right.....but this thinking is completely outdated. We live in an age of social media radicalization and extremism. Where radicals plot violence on apps and can act on it in a matter of days.

That child has very real security needs TODAY. Not when Charles ascends to the throne. Now.

This is just one instance where the BRF as an institution refuses to face reality.

I think she came across badly when she said she had done no research on TRF, British history of TRF, or the British press. It came across as being disinterested about the whole thing and then complaining when it doesn't turn out to be just like "being a celebrity" in the U.S. Like, why wouldn't she watch the Princess Diana interviews, at least?

Yes, she accepted the title without knowing or accepting what the job would entail? I feel for her on many levels but find it unbelievable that she could have done NO research before going into this, as she claimed.

This is why Harry's previous girlfriends - British society types - wouldn't marry him. They knew enough to avoid being trapped in the royal fish bowl. Was Harry not completely honest with Meghan before they got married?

And poor Harry - he has so many unresolved issues, and his whole life he's tried to run away. Going to Afghanistan - twice. Marrying Meghan, a biracial American. Now moving to the US. I worry about him.

+1. His exes came from mega wealthy families, ran in the same circles as Harry and William, and knew exactly what was in store. Kate knew too. MM pretty much went in blind, thinking she'd snagged a handsome, rich prince...

He may be a rich prince, but handsome he isn’t.

Getting a little pudgy around the middle too.

I'm curious to see how they react/defend themselves. Really curious to see if staff loyal to one or the other will leak to the press in defense of their person. IOW, will we see some kind of jockeying between the two houses to not get pegged with the single most damaging revelation of the interview. (Meghan said revealing the identity would be very damaging, so I think that pretty much limits the possibilities to Charles or William, as no one would be surprised if Phillip said it.)

It may have been both. In the interview with Oprah this morning I don't think she implied it was just 1 person. William says moronic things all the time that get overlooked because the focus is on bashing Harry. Charles is seems dimwitted enough if he were not royal he would not make it in the world and hold down a decent job.

Harry thought it was funny to wear a Nazi uniform and was naked in a Vegas hotel room with strippers.

Yes abd he was drunk in his 20’s. What’s William and Charles’ excuse?

While posters keep mentioning the way Harry is still emotionally stuck about his mother's death, he has shown really tremendous personal growth in other realms. He alluded to that himself when he said his family is stuck in their royal bubble around race and he's tried, not with great success, to educate them.

I’m talking the gardening plus the same furniture, rug, etc.

I’ve seen several articles about this already.

Plus: succulents.

I read that the interview was actually done at Gayle King's house.

Gayle said this morning it was not her house and her kids even called and said I didn't know yoy had another house!

He's a good guy and I see some of his reasoning. I also think a lot of passive aggressive behavior on his and Meghan's side went into whatever miscommunication happened. I hope this family can heal.

I’m not crazy about the narrative that they wouldnt get security and therefore were unsafe. They weren’t going to be GIFTED free security paid for by the crown and taxpayers. Of course they could have paid for their own security just like every other non-royal celebrity or globally prominent person does. Being without security was not actually going to happen. And no, they do not need extra security due to the kid being 1/4 black. I mean even Taylor Swift gets death threats FFS.

I think this really gets at the crux of the issue: the BRF as an institution is full of absurd contradictions and Catch-22's.

Taylor Swift pays for her own security because she's worked, made a ton of money, and is famous BECAUSE of her work. Harry/Meghan were not allowed to work or have a career unless they formally left the institution. Meanwhile, they and their son have very real security needs. Which were further amplified when the UK media started playing up the racist tropes in their headlines.

Another catch-22: why is a great-grandkid cut out of security when they are a child....but then gets the security once Charles becomes king? That's absurd. That child needs protection. Period. What an insane and illogical set of circumstances.

Finally, look at how miserable Philip/Anne/etc are in their lives. They have to go to their mother for money because they are not allowed to work. That's exactly what Harry/Meghan are trying to avoid - a life where they have to constantly ask William for money and live on the taxpayer dole until they die. The entire institution is preposterously outdated. If folks don't want them to be beholden to the largess of the taxpayer, they need to be able to establish a career. Harry is coming upon age 40 and has only another 10-20 to have a legitimate career. He's actually running out of time, hence why they forced the issue and moved.

Toxic, racist media environment constantly attacking your wife and child. No ability to work or make money. No future prospects or ability to pursue ambitions. And, finally, no one seriously considering mental health concerns.

Would you stick around?

I would have thought about that ahead of time and certainly not had a showy wedding and a carriage ride if I wanted no part of it all.

If toxic and racist media is a concern, the last place you’d go is settle down in a $15 million dollar Los Angeles mansion, right up the street from Oprah.

They said it was a neighbor of Oprah and M & H's. I'm sure neither none of them want the people to be able to identify their address by zooming in on Google Earth.

That was a very different time. That was back when prominent gossip websites would draw dicks with droplets on Paris Hilton's face and Drew Barrymore's husband humped a dead moose. And yet gay marriage was considered obscene.

He’s alright, almost average. They aren’t the most attractive couple that’s for sure. But they’re loaded so they could fix their looks I suppose.
