Yeah, it’s sad that the bar is now so low for Republicans. He looks fantastic because he isn’t a racist and believes in science. He still does lots of dumb stuff to curry favor with his base.

Hogan is loved by both Republicans and Democrats. That's a great and rare scenario in today's environment and in a highly liberal state. If its a low bar for Republicans, it is for Dems as well.

No, he is not. He only looks moderate because he has been kept in check by the MD House and Senate. Do not let him fool you! While he did a great job at the start of the pandemic, he's been horrible for MD. Just look at the red line (cut/non-existent) , purple line (in shambles), education (too many funding cuts), etc., etc.

Yeah, Hogan has turned out to be a real disappointment. He has avoided making any of the tough decisions around COVID, totally mismanaged the purple line, which thousands of us are reminded of on a daily basis, is twiddling his thumbs on 270 and 495. If this is the sanity Republicans have to offer me, an independent, I’ll take my chances with the Dems.

Anyone who thinks Hogan is "awesome" is either a Republican thrilled that this blue state has a GOP governor, or has been living under a rock for several months.
