Id say it si pretty spot on.

This means that the best clubs in the area are just great at marketing and recruiting good players from other clubs.

This also means that these so called top ranked teams aren’t great at training/developing their current players and/or have good coaches. Right?

I see this with the Bethesda 2008G teams. The Blue Team is ranked high, but the rest of the 2008G teams are ranked pretty low. They are somehow able to effectively recruit to fill rosters for 4 teams.

The rest? Bethesda 2008G have problems getting enough girls for a second team. Their blue team won one league game in the fall? Think they did okay in the lower bracket of the Jeff Cup- ie got points for ranking system. So they seem better vs what they are. This is why rankings should be viewed with a lot of skepticism.

Do you realize that BSC U11G has 4 teams (Blue, White, Green & Orange)?

BSC u11 Girls has two teams- blue and white. I heard a few blue team players each week had to play with the white team because the white did not have enough players. You may want to check your sources!

From what I see NPL actually ranks the matches on VPL league. If CCL was to show matches on 08 I guarantee the ranking would be different.I can name 2 teams from CCL that should be higher (SYA,LMVSC) both are undefeated this season so far.

CCL would actually have to publish scores for Youth Soccer Rankings to work.

SYA has won one game in tournaments this 2018-19 season so far.

You can't honestly think VSA and PWSI deserve to be that high. The ranking system is a joke, gotsoccer is more reliable since it at least doesn't show league standings.

Gotsoccer actually does include NPL, EDP as well as Super Y standings.

FPYCparent wrote:I just did a quick add for Loudoun Red. My fault for omitting them. I'll go back to my original spreadsheet to see if I have more historical data on them (going all the way back to October 2018, LOL). I'll likely upload a fresh spreadsheet at some point.

The GFR 09 has played up in NCSL 2008/U11. One of the ideas behind YSR is that the scores should work across age groups. It seems that their spot in the top division has been earned. We'll see if it sticks.

Getting published CCL results would/should only help bring some clarity across all leagues.

But there is no real point in including GFR 09 just because of some league play. They are not an 08 team and as such are not even ranked by GotSoccer. They are not ranked as an 08 in any site.

CCL parents said it. It’s true. No argument here.

You do realize ccl is a local league? Your clubs have done a great job selling you more than it is. It’s just a league like npl or ncsl.

NCSL actually.... Mclean parent. Scared of CCL? Don't worry you'll play big bad Arlington Red sooner or later.

FPYCparent wrote:So, I've been wanting to add to this topic for a while (DD is 2008), but I really didn't have anything to add.

So, I'll just throw this spreadsheet out for fodder: Many/most/?all? 2008/U11 girls teams in the DC-Metro area <== link sorted by league and/or YouthSoccerRankings scores.

Disclaimers:
(1) Yes, YSR isn't the say-all-be-all-end-all, but it may be the best we've got. The lack of DA/ECNL doesn't impact this age group yet. If only we could get some regular season CCL results for a more comprehensive view.
(2) I've only been taking YSR "snapshots" before/after WAGS, Bethesda (ha!), the fall season (after), and the spring season (before … like today).
(2) I'm sure that I've some of the league affiliations incorrect (especially with CCL), and I've already noticed that some of the clickable URLs didn't transfer over from Excel. I'll try to make corrections as I become aware of them.

I know they are not doing great right now but I still think BRYC 2008 should be somewhere on the list?

I do not need sources, but you do. I know how many teams they have. Why do you continue to post when you have no clue? What you are posting is totally wrong. BSC 08 girls has two teams. Please call Emily and ask her about the green and orange 08 teams. LOL

Here try these “sources”....BSC’s own website.
