and from Kiiiinnn-tucky. Hee-Haw! MAGA!

The amusing part (well, it amuses the rest of us, because you're oblivious to it) is that your hatred and prejudice is every bit as strong as any other racist's.

No, he’s mocking white people who CLAIM to be native Americans.

Try and keep up.

That’s why he mocks the suffering of native people in historical battles and atrocities? Read a book, shithead.

Look, I realize you're stupid, but I simply REFUSE to believe you are THIS stupid. Therefore, you are gaslighting.

You know very well, as does everyone, that Trump was referring to Elizabeth Warren when he makes jokes about "Fauxchahontas". Stop with the gaslighting. It's fooling no one.

It doesn't work as an insult if Pocahontas is a noble and respected figure in your mind. Trump probably thinks about Pocahontas like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AdPi5JnkNQ

It works very well because it's calling out all the white people who have a "Cherokee princess" in their background. Fauxcahontas wasn't a dismissive name that started with Trump, it's been used to describe this phenomenon for ages.

You know who gets to decide whether derisively calling someone Pocahontas is insulting, or whether blithely tossing around references to Wounded Knee, where one of the worst massacres of native Americans took place, is disrespectful? American Indians, that's who.

Here, read up on what some of them have to say, including the NCAI, which condemns Trump:

https://newsmaven.io/indiancountrytoday/archive/ncai-condemns-president-trump-s-derogatory-use-of-pocahontas--KArFACFlku_jlYnYVYNHg/

https://www.thedailybeast.com/native-american-groups-slap-down-trumps-pocahontas-comment

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/14/us/politics/wounded-knee-trump-warren.html

“As a Native, Trump’s tweet was equivalent to making a ‘joke’ about 9/11, Pearl Harbor or the Holocaust,” she said. “I found it awful that not only did Trump use this tragedy as a joke, weapon and insult, but that his ignorance of American history is so great that he didn’t even know that Wounded Knee was a massacre and not a battle.”

Native Americans are also the ones who get to decide how they feel about white people appropriating their history to seem ~exotic~ or ~special~ and Warren is not particularly beloved.

There is no winner here. And most of the rest of us have probably done little more than go to the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian and done little ourselves to help right the historical and current wrongs done to Native Americans. Except when we get to use them to point out how terrible other people are.

Good thing we're above reproach.

I vote for politicians who will support policies that benefit American Indians and give money to groups that support American Indians.

Here's a really great group:

https://www.narf.org/cases/voting-rights/

Why do you keep calling them American "Indians." You know Columbus was mistaken, right? They aren't Indians, so stop calling them that.

Let me guess - you say “illegal alien” too?

Are you: old, clueless, or both?

Illegal Alien is the legally correct, recognized term.

Yup. Old and clueless.

Never a victim, but increasingly victimized.

LOL. Another f*cking martyr. Big surprise.

His parents, his teachers, and his clergy are more at fault. Let’s blame the adults doing the indoctrination, not the indoctrinated children.

Also I’ll bet you $10 this boy watches Prager “U”. Direct your efforts at stopping that hate- that would have a big impact.

What is Prager "U"?

I would like to have seen how this started--were the kids standing there when the Indigenous People arrived--or did the kid walk up to get in his face. Obnoxious yes.

Look also at the kids around him, his classmates, grinning. Did any of them call him out and tell him to stop?

+1. Completely complicit. WWJD? Not that.

Don't you think expulsion from school would be the appropriate punishment. What you propose doing sounds as creepy as what he did.

He never gets to hide what he did. Maybe if he apologizes sincerely and makes amends, I’ll reconsider.

Please don’t do this. What they did was disgusting but they are very young.
yet the courts will try a 14 year old as an adult...Is he salvageable because hes a rich white boy?

He was clearly standing in the Native American man's personal space. Would you want a stranger deliberately standing that close to you? If my kid did this, I would consider it intolerance and harassment. There would be consequences. It's odd how acceptable lack of civility has become in our country.

If that was my son, I'd feel like I failed as a parent.

And your feelings would referent reality.

+200

All those smiling, laughing, taunting boys are complicit, should be identified and have consequences. Something is wrong with that Catholic school if so many students have such a terribly broken moral compass.

That school is toxic, and dare I say, that "Christian" school must teach hate to produce so many young men like this, not that dissimilar to those extreme Muslim mosques.

I’m a Catholic and would be very, very hesitant to send my kid to most Catholic all-boys HSs. They breed entitlement.

Just going to jump in on this because both of my nephews went to an inner city catholic boys Jesuit HS. They are both extremely humble kids who are pursuing degrees in public service fields and have years of dedicated service to certain charities - extending beyond their high school graduations. Their friend base is the most diverse group of people who have ever been introduced to my white Irish-American family. I love those friends and they are welcomed openly to our annual family parties.

I’m appalled by these boys’ behavior. I hope they are expelled.

But I hope people do not clump all Catholic boys schools together with these actions.

What was his point standing there so close to the singer with that smirk on his face? Are you trying to convince us he was listening respectfully and showing his appreciation of an indigenous song?

He actually stood his ground. The Native American guy walked into the group of students chanting for their school while waiting for their bus. The level of hatred being directed towards these boys because they are white and word MAGA hats makes me fear for our country’s future.

It all adds up.

Those who call themselves Christians say that their religion doesn’t stand for the hatred and bigotry peddled by Trump, many Republicans, many evangelicals, etc, but a significant majority of those who call themselves Christians voted for Trump and support his policies.

Those who call themselves Catholics say no real Catholic would condone child sexual abuse, and certainly wouldn’t hide it and reassign those responsible so they can prey on others, and, yet that’s what the entire Catholic hierarchy did for decades on a global basis.

Those who call themselves Catholics now say, “A real Catholic school would teach those boys to behave better, and real Catholic school boys would behave better.

How long do you keep throwing up the “No true Scotsman” argument?

I feel terrible for the elderly Native American man. Imagine if a group of teens decided to do that to an elderly member of your family? There should be consequences. I'd have them sit through presentations about the plight of Native Americans in this country. I would also make them do community service in minority communities. If the main instigator has already been admitted to college, the college should admit him on probation and say if there is any incident of intolerance he's out for good, no second chance. I don't think they should be expelled, I prefer rehabilitation rather than even more resentful bigots. I'm a minority and I would hope if my teen did something stupid he'd be given the opportunity to make amends and rehabilitate. I know there will be posts that say, I'm delusional if I think a minority kid would be given the opportunity to make amends, but that doesn't change that it's the more appropriate course of action when teens (whose brains are still developing) make mistakes that don't involve rape, physical harm or a history of persistent of harassment.

There are other videos showing all the boys chanting things like "Build the wall" and "Gone in 2020"

This IG account belongs to someone there. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsy604JHz_E/

The IG post refers to people being pushed and disrespected but none of that is evident in the clip. Apparently the boys were all gathered at the Lincoln Memorial first.

This is a publicity stunt being milked by left wing activists.

I am horrified as a Catholic and as an American. Sadly, I’m sure these kids’ parenrs are proud of them. Clearly they learned to hate at home.
