Will people just argue to argue?? A poster saying a shutdown is bad and one saying people have bills to pay now aren’t disagreeing. They both want a shutdown to end, or even to never have happened. |

Sounds about right. This is about anything but a wall. |
This pp is insightful. And the current President is using individual feds lives as pawns. |
Good for you! You can also take a dump next to the Washington Monument. Glad you are benefiting from the suffering of 800,000 families. #BeBest |
The shutdown is now wreaking havoc on farmers, already hurt by Trump's trade wars.
https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/2019/01/04/government-shutdown-makes-already-rough-farm-markets-even-rougher/2475446002/ The federal government shutdown could wreak havoc on U.S. agriculture, and the rural economy, as farmers wait on subsidy payments, loans and data they need now to make plans for the spring. The timing could hardly be worse, according to some farmers, as they've already been hit with fallen commodity prices and the loss of foreign markets in President Donald Trump's trade wars. Now as a result of the shutdown, farmers say, applications are on hold for a $12 billion emergency aid package Trump and the Department of Agriculture announced for farmers hurt by retaliatory tariffs from China and other nations. The deadline to apply for that program was supposed to be Jan. 15 but may have to be extended. |
So. Much. Winning.

Let's hope it ends soon. People aren't getting their paychecks or their healthcare.

Schumer: Trump said he would close government for a 'long time ... even years'
|
He's the biggest disgrace to the office of POTUS in history. No one with any brains and a desire to keep this country functional would threaten to shut down the Government for years. |
Someone needs to explain to Trump that without Government, there's anarchy. |
I guess no one is minding the adult daycare today.
|
That is truly scary that he evens considers that an option. |
. But this is what he both wants and needs to avoid punishment on a personal legal - criminal and civil - level. I called this immediately. I have no doubt he will faux negotiate but do his utmost to extend this to late winter unless and until proceedings start in the House. |
Wow. So he's going to take the country down with him to try to avoid punishment for his misdeeds. Let's hope there are some GOP members out there who value country over party loyalty. |
