Yes, and some of these better players might show up at McLean tryouts if they are fed up with being overlooked at their own club. |
| I thought all of the B and C team players sucked? And now some are overlooked? Or do only McLean B team players suck? Man, we can't keep our stories straight in this thread. |
| New poster. I think PPs are saying that Mc Lean comes to Arlington, shifts players down, and makes 07DA strong. Arlington A - C all have average player pools, but may be good enough to make ECNL over in Mc Lean. The Mc Lean girls don't have the best reputation or chemistry and a new weird coach, so that team could easily break up next year. |
Of Arlington White’s older age groups (U15+), all of the teams except the 01s made it to the President’s Cup final. Not bad. |
Which coach are you referring to? ECNL or Pre ECNL? What do you mean by weird? Arlington Girls 06 Red (B team) is near the bottom of CCL standings despite having multiple DP players for their DA team on it. In this area it is hard to fill out roster for first teams with strong bench, no less have strong second teams. McLean 05 Green Girls are pretty good. Arlington white is B team above U15 (Arlington DA currently stops at U15). Presidents Cup is not a major tournament. Are there any DA/ECNL teams competing in Presidents Cup? |
| Well someone had mentioned Arlington White. That’s the competition that they get put in. Seeing as White usually plays NCSL D1, the skill level is commensurate to the one that they play league games in. So I don’t really get your shade, just making an observation. The world doesn’t stop after DA/ECNL. |
What does DP Players mean? I haven't seen any 2006 DA players play for Arlington 2006G Red. It is a new team, still getting its act together since many left for DA or other ECNL clubs. Despite a losing record, the games have not been blowouts. Pretty good for a newly reformulated team that lost all its top players to DA. |
You are posting on a McLean ECNL thread. I am trying to inform people who are trying to decide between McLean and Arlington. I can see switching clubs if you are offered an ECNL or true DA spot. If you are offered something less: Red, Green, White, DP whatever. You might be better off staying where you are unless you know for a fact that your experience will be better somewhere else. |
DP=Developmental Player. They are listed as not playing on the game report for the DA team. Most of them actually play for Red. They theoretically may get invited to practice/play with DA. ECNL has a similar status which allows them to dual roster them with B team. |
I have not seen that on the Arlington boys side, players play for the team they are assigned. Occasionally one or two will guest play up or down for a game between red and white but not DA. |
|
LOL. This is a McLean ECNL thread. Looks like McLean management's plan is to sweep all the rants under the rug by posting a bunch of nonsense and non-sequiturs about Arlington . . . . . . who took their players apparently.
Nice idea, but a little obvious. There is a whole thread on Arlington's DA already.

It would be nice to see more about the Mclean ECNL teams. How did they do this fall? |

| Really just U13 and U15 that aren’t strong-the older groups doing great. |
Every club always has pockets of age groups that are weak. What sends a red flag is when every single team, or the vast majority, are struggling to compete against multiple teams time and time again. |
