I had to go see for myself. Every D1 commit listed in the 2019 class save for the coach's son plays for a different club and has for years - Blackwolf and VLC. At least it says current and former players.

How do you even know this? Why do you care enough to find out?

How do I know this? My son knows and has played with several of them on the same club. Do I care enough to do a quick google search to confirm what some previous poster said? Sure, it takes 10 seconds.

But more importantly, I don't like clubs being disingenuous to parents who pay good money to have their child play for them. I would do the same for any other club. It's just poor practice.

Pffft nobody who signs their kid up for the Cavs 4th, 5th, or 6th grade team gives a shit about their "college commits". And that's when most kids are on Cavs - for a few years of grade school, before they move on to another team.

Lol! My son was recruited out of his PUBLIC high school in Virginia to play D1 lacrosse and yea, he played for Cavs and still is best friends with a half dozen of his team mates from Cavs.

You people are insane and clearly have to push your mediocre athletes into the most "elite" clubs to train them how to move their 2 left feet in the hope that can play for Lynchburg one day.

For every 1 kid recruited from VA/MD/DC publics, there are 10 from the privates. Your kid must've been good.

It's obvious who you are because you can count the number of D1 commits from Cavs on one hand.

When did they play for the Cavs? When they were all in 6th grade?

Lynchburg's acceptance rate is 60% of which 14% of those accepted chose to attend. While they are a top 10 D3 program, who needs lax to get them in?

This ratio is off. More like 70/30 private to public.

Since most of the recruiting activity is done outside of HS play, (coaches really cannot watch Spring games) is this due to the fact that the better kids tend to choose private schools or do the private schools produce better players?

Kids who go to private school tend to be from wealthier families who can throw $$$ at lacrosse camps/coaches/clubs/gear/trainers which will result in better players.

Why are people talking about college recruiting on a Cavalier thread? Their track record is so bad they include kids who committed years after they left Cavalier.

Cavalier 24 claimed they are the #16 team in the world (www.instagram.com/p/BqLcCF1ADnW)

At the WSYL qualifiers, Cavalier 24 went 1-5 and finished in 8th place out of 10 teams (http://worldseriesofyouthlacrosse.com/qualifiers/east-regional-qualifier/schedule-and-standings). Two years in a row Cavalier sold parents on going to Denver but failed to qualify.

LOL Cavalier.

To be fair, Cav did not claim to be #16 the tournament ranked them. WSYL is a bad excuse for a tournament anyway. The field was weak. I think the Cavalier parents know what they are in for. The kids got to play extra games and they save the cost of going to Denver.

Cavs weren't 0 and 5 like Koopers, so there's that.

Why do people care about WSYL? Almost all of the top clubs here, in Baltimore, and in LI/CNY can't play because of the age issue, so the field ends up being weak. There are a lot of near-by tournaments with much stronger fields.
