I think there's a way to do it on the website if you book there. There is an "available pricing options" tab, or there used to be. So, then you could make sure to only use the off-peak classes for those times and the 10-pack for peak classes. It's worth asking them, because this has to be an option. |
I have posted a few times and will make a decision this week to keep continuity. I'm likely going to move to a low monthly membership and buy supplement classes as necessary. I love the place but I had thought of scaling back to 2X/week to spend more time on outdoor cardio (hello, spring!). I actually plan to post another thread to see what people supplement sc with. |
At least at Orange theory, I am getting a ton of cardio and weights in all in one workout. I did solidcore, it was hard but for that price I need a more efficient workout that also includes more intense cardio. |
Agree! I actually thought that with 100+ classes I may get a discount or something, but no, nothing. I feel less valued lately, as I had asked about a discount/sale/something and was told those were all for the new people. Ok. Glad I spent all that $ and it was so appreciated... |

Me, three. It would bother me less if they weren't all blah blah community blah blah. Just own that your goal is profit. I gave this exact feedback in my email: how disrespectful the quick change and messaging about the new pricing were to dedicated customers in particular. Who knows if anyone will read it. It helps when I feel like I have good rapport with certain coaches and other regulars. That, to me, makes all the difference between a good class and a killer class. -OP |

I didn't get a formal response from corporate, but I got a response from my studio manager. It was an apology for the quick switch and lack of warning. And the letter included a justification of the changes, stating why going to a monthly plan is better. I wrote back and again and restated that loyal clients are getting f'd over, prices are getting raised and flexibility is becoming more limited. I guess I was hoping for some insight that they would take my perspective into account and that corporate was re-thinking the changes, but I got none of that. |
I have not heard anything back. I emailed about a week ago. I REALLY hope someone in corporate (or with decision making authority) reads this thread--it is long, but I think the comments would provide them valuable insight. Anyone have the guts to send the email chain to the Founder? I don't have the guts, but I wish I did. |
Someone earlier in the thread said they would send it to a former colleague who worked in corporate. Any update from that PP, if you're still out there? My studio manager said I could send feedback to her or them, and I purposely sent it there because I figured I would get a standard response from her, i.e., that they are telling all studio managers to say. She's great, but I know this decision was made above her head. I honestly think going after them on social media might be more effective since it would be public. |

Anyone have ideas about how best to do this? I'm at a bit of a loss, mostly because anything I would post would probably be way too profane to get a response. I went to class last night and the sign outside said they have new "accountability" packages, which I guess is how they're marketing them. Sucks for those of us who don't need that kind of accountability. This class was also the first where I felt like the coach was making it easier to accommodate new people, as PPs had mentioned. If that were my regular experience, I'd be annoyed (even though I love the coach and it was a great class in many ways). Booked the remainder of my 40 pack for May and looking forward to getting destroyed before I have to decide whether to keep at it. -OP |
I'd also love to know how to best do this via social media. I prefer not to splash all my limited social media presence where I workout for many reasons (mostly, I'm just not a big "share everything on FB person"), but if there was a targeted way for me to show my concern like a yelp review, online petition, etc (and I thought they would care about it)--I'd definitely do it. Also, I recently spoke with one of the coaches that tried to assure me they were told the new pricing would make it cheaper in the long run for everyone. I did the math for her (I'm on unlimited) and she was like--"yep, that is NOT good for you". ![]() |
That is SO lame they were told that. Wow. How disappointing. One of the things I liked about the company was the CEO seemed to have a lot of integrity, and decisions like this undermine that. I've posted reviews on Yelp before, and received a response from said CEO, so may do that again. I'm reasonably active on social media (and friends with a bunch of my coaches) but also not sure I want to post a big "hey [solidcore], WTF?" on there. Hopefully others will have ideas--this is definitely not my area of expertise. |
