When pulled over, we generally get the benefit of the doubt from cops, when shopping we aren't immediately treated as suspect. This privilege is a real thing. Does it apply in every single situation for every single person - probably not. But it is undeniably something that happens.

LOL, you're such an IDIOT
It's not being privileged. It's of being a race that doesn't commit crime by and large. A race that doesn't lie about everything. A race that doesn't think they have a right to steal and rob from whitey. It's not privilege. Fact: Blacks Officers treat Blacks they pull over the same as white Officers do. It's for a reason dumbass. Same for shopping. Black Managers know to keep an eye on the Black customers. By and large they are the thief's. Has nothing to do with privilege. Just another LIE by Blacks.

You exhibited every bit of RACISM in the books. Whites commit so much more crimes than Asians. Whites commit the most hate crimes and mass murders. Whites commit so much more bank robberies than asians. SO compared to ASIANS, by your logic, whites deserve to be treated as second class citizens, right?

Neither does Tim Scott the US senator from, SC. Yet he was stopped so many times as a senator and congressman. Even a Black senator isn't immune to cop harassment. How many WHITE US senator have ever been stopped by cops? THAT IS WHITE PRIVILEGE. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/tim-scott-capitol-racism-senate-225507

I can't keep track of the countless times in the past few years whearas Blacks have made up incidents for no reason other than to claim racism.
i.e. The Black girls on the bus that took weeks for the video to be publicly shown that they were lying
The Black that did the hanging drawing in the University Library.
Countless situations.

Yes, what I'm saying is, that it's more than likely the Senator was creating the situation so that he could be seen as going to bat for the Blacks. I'd love to see the details of each stop.
Was he:
1 driving around in quiet wealthier neighborhoods at 3 am ? a white person would be stopped also
2 driving by a cop just to give a big racism smirk ?
3 intentionally driving with a broken tail light ? all white people are stopped for this also dummy
4 driving like a dumbass ? white people are also stopped for acting like an idiot behind a wheel

You are very racist to equate a US Senator to a WHITE THUG. Yes ofcourse white THUGS and White drug dealers are stopped WAY MORE than a White Senator. But to even equate a SENATOR to white thug behavior needs totally insensitive racism. I am sure you are one of the Obama is not American Birther that supports trump.

I see this thread is on the brink of running off the rails so let me get my last two cents in before the ignorant antagonists totally take over...

If I were to ask you, “Do you believe that folks of color had equal opportunity and were treated equally in 1963” I am confident that no one would say, “Well, of course, naturally they did in 1963. That was a damn good year to be black or brown in America.” Everyone would quickly acknowledge how bad it was back in the day, because it is no sweat off your back to admit such in hindsight either you weren’t born or you were too young to have anything to do with the perpetuation of racism back then, right? So forty plus years later it’s easy for you to talk about how bad it was.
But see, here’s the kicker…
What do you think white folks said when those very questions were put to them in 1963, in a time where the apartheid system of Jim Crow was very much in effect, before the Civil Rights Act and before the Voting Rights Act and before the Fair Housing Act? Well in 1963 whites were asked the very same question. “Do you think that racial minorities are treated equally in your community?” - and 80% of white folks said yes.
In 1962, when Gallup asked, “Do you think that black children receive equal educational opportunities in your community?” 90% of white folks said yes.
In the 60’s whites were just as blind to the plight of people of color as they are now and they were steadily expressing the same frustration then as they do now, “What is all this complaining about?”

I bring all this up to stress one simple fact - the same denial rooted in pride and prejudice that prohibited people from acknowledging and addressing the injustices right in front of their face back then...that very same denial is still in full effect now and that is why we still have the same problems relating to racism and privilege today as we had back then.

I once found myself...alone at night....in a deserted area....in a city well-known for crime. (How I got there is a long story....basically, I was stupid.) I was waiting for a bus to get me the hell out of there, when from around the corner down the street appeared five black males. Late teens, I'd say. They walked half-way up the block, saw me, stopped in their tracks, looked at each other, then kept approaching. They were within 20 feet of me when the bus pulled up and I jumped in. I will admit I was scared to death. So I ask....who here thinks I'm racist, and who here thinks that is a normal reaction from a female, alone at 11 pm, in a deserted abandoned area. Im just curious.....

YES, I am ANGRY. Angry that I'm accused of being racist. It's simply a way for Black people to shirk their responsibilities for there poor performance in Society. Get off the white privilege BS and do something about the behavior that makes white people as well as other Black people question your motives and intentions. It's not my fault you grew up without a Father. Not my fault you flunked out of school because you though joining a gang was the smarter thing to do. Not my fault you can't obey simple commands from a Police Officer.

How are we to determine when you're lying or telling the truth since one is just as likely as the other ?

I have an ideal. How about you start policing all the bad behaviors in your own race before you start causing race wars.

Lovely story but you forgot to indicate how that relates to your white privilege. Since it slipped your mind I'll provide an example...

Let's say while you were waiting for that bus you decided to call the police upon seeing those five black males in their late teens.
Even if they never approached you and simply stayed where they were the fact is that when the cops arrived all of them would have been in handcuffs for any number of charges based solely on the fact that you are white and whatever you say happened - happened.
If you told the police those boys attacked you tried to rape you...even if they never came within 20 feet of you they still would be charged with assault and attempted battery felonies.

Now if a black woman happened to find herself alone at night in any city in this country and called the police on five white males in their late teens who ACTUALLY DID assault her and try to rape her do you think the police would take her word so quickly?

So I ask...do you think you aren't privileged?
I'm just curious.

Agreed. For someone who is not in the same situation, it is not easy to see whats going on. I can add the drug addiction issue as a case in point. For decades blacks were suffering from addiction and they were put in jail for possessing illegal drugs. Now vast swathes of rural and suburban white america is suffering from heroin addiction, suddenly there is talk about addiction as a disease that needs to be treated. What gives? Ofcourse now that whites are suffering they can relate to it and they want treatment. So maybe whites should suffer from Jim Crow to understand what racism means.

My story is true, and you're coming up with scenarios to prove racism. So here's how I think it would play out:

First, if I called the cops (the timeline doesn't work, but supposing), they would ask what they did. Assuming they did nothing, and I simply said, they were looked at me funny or whatever, the cop would let them go. If a black woman said she was assaulted by five white guys, the police would take her seriously.

So I don't see how that makes me privileged.

Well your reaction is normal for anyone, females especially. But then those 5 men could be white and still you should be afraid. There is a difference between situations where your self preservation instincts take over and racism.

having white privilege does not make your a racist. it is a fact you can either accept or not. I'm not sure why that makes you angry

You have to get off equating ALL BLACKS by one broad brush. Whites should start taking responsibility for mass murders and not blame guns. Whites should stop blaming smarter asians becoming CEOs of big companies as equal opportunity at work. Asians out perform whites in every aspects and they need to work harder to catch up to higher asian standards. Whites in rural areas should stop being lazy, stop getting into heroin addiction and do something with their life.
