You're a super idiot. |
PP here. I think JO is a really strong school. Sorry my post wasn't clear. To clarify, I am surprised that that the poster got waitlisted at JO but matched at Two Rivers Young. I would have expected TR Young to have filled before JO given it's a HRCS. I stand corrected! |
Be kind, everyone. It's a complex system, and not everyone has the time or inclination to immerse themselves in it. And you go a little off your rocker when you do. I speak from experience. That being said, yes, getting into Brent PK3 this year as an OOB kid was never going to happen. But this is a smaller cohort than last year, so apply again for K. They may end up taking a number of OOB kids to fill the classes. |
Brent took half a dozen OOB kids for K this year and will almost certainly take more next year. The current in-boundary PreK4 cohort (including those who couldn't lottery in) is a lot smaller than the current in-boundary K cohort. |
Maybe a whole lot of people with proximity preference to JO Wilson are ahead of OP? Because she must have had a great lottery number to be #10 on the SWS wait list and get into TR. |
Also ... TRY is probably a better shot for PK3 since there are fewer slots taken up by sibling preference because the school hasn't added all its older classes yet, right? |
| If you don't have all 12 schools filled, it doesn't hurt at all to apply to schools you like that are almost certainly not going to take you. NBD. |
| If a traditional school seems equally as good to a charter, which do you choose? Just curious about charters vs traditional. |
Well we're #7 post lottery. I was baffled, myself. |
Personally, I'd go with the traditional. They pay their teachers better. |
Maybe people were/are spooked by having to move off-site during construction? |
Is PP English or Spanish dominant? There are two waitlists at Bancroft now like Oyster, right? |
We also added Bancroft PK3 post-lottery. English dominant. WL #8. Anyone think there's a good chance of getting a spot? |
Are you still at 7/8? We added it post lottery, I think after I saw someone say that got 7, and we are listed even lower. I THiNK I clicked English, but it doesn't show like the others do. Kid is bilingual, so it probably doesn't matter, but still would like to know. |
Yup. Still showing WL#8 for us. Also clicked English. OOB with no preferences. As someone else said, maybe Bancroft was less desirable this year because of the move to Sharpe Health during the two-year modernization, but single digit WL for post-lottery application seems almost too good to be true. In any event, we're hopeful for a spot. |
