No it's not. Bernie's a loser and his staff are losers. He didn't even want to be a Democrat until he decided to run for president. His loser data director stole
from her, it's not on Hillary to release a statement about "trusting" Bernie because we now know she shouldn't trust him.

I'm speaking as someone who is not sure which candidate I'll pick in the primary. I like them both for different reasons. The way this is developing hurts Hillary. It's not her responsibility to do anything, but she's a smart politician and she should.

Why?

Because for whatever reason it feels like the dnc favors her to the point of trying to discredit Sanders. It's because he's the underdog and she seems more like an insider. I'm not saying it's all true, but when we're undecided many of us vote with our gut, and these kinds of negative associations with Hillary make me want to go the other way.

If she speaks out against the dnc reaction or facilitates Bernie being back in good graces, it will restore faith in her as more than just someone in it to win. It's why people applauded when Bernie said that "damn emails" line. It's even why trump gains popularity. You want to feel like the person is making human connections and saying something "real" not just playing a game to win.

But why shouldn't the DNC favor her? Why do they owe Sanders anything? All those years in the Senate he refused to join party, refused to pay DNC and DSCC dues, why do they owe him anything now that he's begging for their charity?

Are they supposed to treat all people running as Democrats equally? (Sincere question)

Maybe theoretically, but it's really not cool or fair for someone who just decided to be a Democrat last Thursday to come in demanding this. Bernie has never been loyal to the party but he seems to expect the same in return. No thanks.

I wish Dems and Reps would occasionally do things that are good for their country vs. good for their party.

Turns out there's a lot of misinformation/disinformation being circulated by the Clinton campaign...

For one, and most importantly, it's looking like the supposed "exports" of data only consisted of a one-page summary, as opposed to detailed records of individual voters.

http://www.snopes.com/bernie-sanders-campaign-data-breach-controversy/

So why did they immediately fire the data director who accessed the data and immediately created new accounts for other Sanders staffers to access the data?

They accessed the Clinton campaign inputs about voters. Four people did not access just for a one page summary sheet.

I think the staffer was fired due to the appearance of impropriety, regardless of whether or not the breach was actually substantial or not.

Meanwhile, there has been zero actual evidence presented that the Sanders campaign ever got detailed voter data, and in fact the evidence appears to support that it was only summary-level info, given the statements made thus far and the audit which shows very short timelines involved - I don't see how it would even be possible for them to have downloaded any substantial number of records or detailed data. The firewall was only down for 40 minutes and the logged transactions which appear to show the accesses happened in a minute or less each time. I've been in IT for a long time, and you generally can't query and extract millions of records from a remote system in less than a minute from even major national systems.

Do they have any say in who calls themselves a Democrat when running for office? Do they get anything from Democratic candidates?

Democratic elected officials pay dues, which Bernie hasn't been doing since he wasn't a Democrat until this year. Anyone can register to vote as a member of whatever party they choose.

Hillary is more like an old-school Republican by today's standards. Less of a Democrat than Sanders is ideologically.

I saw a tweet that the DNC caved and will give Bernie access tomorrow. I hope he holds out for a a full and independent audit/investigation of the situation. This just doesn't smell right.

Way stand up Bernie. Laughing at the HRC talking points on this thread. Does anyone seriously believe Bernie is unethical and a cheater? Do you really trust the HRC/DNC story?

To add to what you said: Does anyone NOT believe that Hillary is an unethical and dishonest person given her track record?

DWS and the DNC royally screwed up and it would not surprise me if some of Bernie's supporters just decide that they will not vote for HRC as nominee and siit out the election.

DWS has to be one of the most tone deaf and reprehensible individuals in a position of leadership!

I'm a conservative, and as much as I don't like Sander's political positions, there's no doubt this was an attempt to take Sanders out of the race. Even conservative radio hosts say they respect Sanders for his ethics and honesty. They do not say the same about Hillary.

The very fact there are few, if any, real challengers to Hillary Clinton, speaks volumes regarding the absolute corruption in the democratic party.

It's like watching a banana republic "elect" a leader

Yep. It would be one thing if people were really excited about her as a candidate - but they are not.
I can’t tell you how many Dems have said they will “hold their nose” to vote for her.

So then it doesn't matter. They accepted his money, which is tacit approval of his politics. To treat him unfairly I simply bc they want another candidate to win I s unethical.

I also no longer believe the "Bernie can't win the general election line." I am beginning to feel she is perhaps going to be more polarizing than he is.

She can still change this is she reacts in a respectful and benign manner to all this. She's smarter then all this. She shouldn't let the DNC destroy her image further. Right now their corruption is closely tied with her.

All of this talk about Sanders being an outsider is ridiculous. The man had been in a cozy Somerville in the US Senate longer than many of us have been alive.

True. And yet the DNC's behavior helps that narrative.

Seriously, all Hillary has to do so is that she trusts Bernie and wants to get back to debating the real issues or some such thing, and it will be a huge boost to her.

He actually has t been in the Senate that long but he was in the House for a very long time previously.

I can tell you that I sent $20 to Bernie for this. It will be interesting to see if he gets a bump in fundraising. That will speak volumes. I believe he has a very loyal following and if the dems treat this group poorly, the democratic nominee will get hurt.

Agree. This is bringing him tons of publicity, bringing in lots of donations and further firing up his base.
