Because that is kind of what you will be treated like if you are unfortunate enough to be borne into the lowest caste. I don't think america has anything remotely close to that. Please don't compare a housekeeper and a maid here in the U.S to a house servant in india, they have far more rights here. Similar job =/= similar circumstances.

Low caste people in India are treated horrifically but please let's not forget this country actually had slavery not too long ago, a permanent underclass now and life isn't exactly a first class bowl of cherries for migrant farmworkers and other immigrants.

Can we not compare something that happened 200 years ago in the U.S to something that is happening now? It was abolished for a reason.

Fair point. Let's talk about White policemen killing Black people and the resultant backlash. There is no movement in India right now that says #LowCasteLivesMatter.

I rest my case.

Your "cases" are always full of crap.

+1 having a bad day dude? You already proved why Indians are superior a million times. You also proved the other pps who are annoyed by Indians thinking they're better.

Ah ha! So, now we are resorting to ad hominem reasoning?

Actually, this has been a surprisingly entertaining day!

No, actually it is very nice to be married to Indian husbands. They are good providers, good fathers and loyal. I actually feel bad for women married to White men. They are always on the lookout to cheat on their wives, they are not good providers, they are selfish and they divorce their older wives and get new models. I think it is a very heavy burden to wear. I find white women always desperately trying to lose weight and go for plastic surgery to fix their bodies and looks, because their husbands find them frumpy and unattractive after they have babies. White men are emotionally cold and it must be a nightmare being married to them.

White men find it easy to walk away from their kids when they divorce. They also may or may not provide for the college education of their kids.

I would agree with you PP. nearly every Indian man I've met here fits these criteria, except for one douchebag who left his wife when she was pregnant, because he didn't feel the passion. Don't know enough about white men to comment, but reading these boards makes me think there's some truth there.

News flash: theses boards do not represent about all white mens marriages. Just because couples stay married doesn't necessarily mean they're happy.

If one were to take everything they read on DCUM as representative of live, Everyone in the world would be a narcissistic, racist, self righteous breast feeding mother (that hates cyclists).... people come to boards like this to complain far more than they come to discuss the positives in their lives.

I don't know if perhaps an unarticulated anti-Indian sentiment is the reason or if there's just something wrong with me (never had trouble making friends before though).

They may be assuming things about you. I'm Indian and I know lots of Indians ONLY hang out with other Indians socially, on weekends etc -- esp first gen Indians. If you're trying to talk with your DD's friends' parents -- they may be assuming you're being nice but you wouldn't be interested in ever getting together because you have a dawat every weekend or you have your inlaws living with you or you only socialize with family or whatever.

Yes! My DS had a lot of Indian students in his class and I could not gain ground with the parents- perfectly cordial but tended to socialize with the other Indian parents. I completely understood, but was bummed. It's not always like this- I connected far better with the Indian parents in my neighborhood. I have honestly found all of the women to be smart, straightforward, and easy to be around. People are people- one of my son's friends is originally from India- she has an older sibling with special needs- I saw the parents at a function once with their older child--both father and mother were lovingly holding his hand, wiping his face, helping him eat. The image stuck with me as an exquisite example of parental tenderness and love.

Ooooh! I saw what you did there. So breast feeding moms are the same as narcissistic racists who hate cyclists?

Or did you write this to make "narcissistic racists" rhyme with "hate cyclists"?

Or where you trying to derail this thread?

idk what your problem is, but maybe tighten whatever screw happens to be loose

I was not insinuating anything. I was simply saying that one should not take what people like to complain about on this forum as representative of what people are like in the real world. I thought I made that pretty clear the first time though?? Everything I listed is a contentious issue that has come up several times in the past week on this forum, and nothing more...stop trying to make connections that don't exist....smh

Paranoid much? Lighten up, they were obviously just saying to take what people say about each other on these forums with a grain of salt. The purpose was pretty clear, and not malicious.

But why be specific about breast feeding on a thread that is totally unrelated?

I wasn't being specific about anything, which is why I also included 4 other things besides breast feeding...

your missing the entire point of my post, which was 'what people say in a thread like this (where people like to complain and be critical) is not representative of reality. '

It was in agreement with the PP before me that said these boards are not representative of "all white marriages" . I simply took it a step further and said that it holds true for everything discussed on DCUM.

NP but maybe they were mentioning a commonly derisive issue. It took me about a second to figure that out. What exactly are you projecting?

While I realize there are lots of people on these boards, there has been someone on just about every thread I've read tonight that has gotten all pissy if anyone dare veer slightly off subject. Is that you PP?
