Thoughts on supsending preschool students

So much depends on the teacher and the environment. We had a similar experience to yours. Moved our kid to a new school and POOF! - no problem. The teacher at the first school was convinced our kid was bad/troubled/special needs (he's been evaluated and is none of the above), and so she read into every little thing he did. And he wasn't the only one. There were a handful of kids she just decided she didn't like and her attitude toward them was palpable. She was a big part of the problem and IMO had np business teaching preschoolers.

I'm not questioning what you are saying, but that does not excuse throwing a chair.

My kid threw a chair and was not suspended. He had not been violent before; he has not been violent since.

Oh, white kid. The teachers did handle it. Unlike the little boys in the article, and the shrill people on this thread, he did not get labeled a "violent child."

Okay. But, don't you think it would have been different if he had caused problems before?

Oh for Christ's sake. Get over the fucking chair already and try to participate in the broader conversation.

Well, then your language probably explains why you are so sensitive to this issue. You don't know what is inappropriate.
