One troubling aspect of the entire, tragic situation is how weak the Lebanese government is--Israel wants Lebanon to govern Lebanon and expel Hezbullah (aka Iran's proxy) but Lebanon simply cannot. Lebanon ordered Iran's ambassador in Beirut to leave and the ambassador laughed: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/iran-says-its-ambassador-wont-leave-beirut-despite-lebanon-ordering-his-expulsion

How can we keep supporting this escalating violence? Or at least not call out connecting the dots?

We are parents here: if one of my kids pushes the other a fight is likely. I would certainly point a finger at both and not continue to supply the first with sugary snacks.

Are you saying it was ok for him to attack a synagogue in the US because his relatives were killed by Israeli strikes.

So the Jews who were at the synagogue, many who have never been to Israel or probably don’t support Israel are fair targets just because they have the same religion as the people in Israel.[b] Kinda like staying we should target all Muslims in the US since many Muslims in the Middle East support ISIS.

Also per Hezbollah. Up until last week. There have been no “recent” attack by Israel into Lebanese territory. Why would they bomb Lebanese territory recently???
Maybe because Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets into Israel recently. So Israel is supposed just allow that to happen. And Lebanon is also responsible for any damage and deaths to its citizens as it allows Hezbollah to launch attacks from its territories.

That’s not a great argument. 99% of people being killed in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon didn’t do anything. Israel is targeting residential buildings, schools, civilians. They bombed a Catholic neighborhood. That’s a pretty big clue that that is desired land for them.

Lebanon is pretty good at creating their own problems. It's a weak government with tons of corruption and a gazillion sectarian interests. With its Constitution dividing power among Sunni, Shi'a, and Maronite Christians, Lebanon will never have a strong central power that can counter an invasion from Israel. The Lebanese Army - such as it is - can't manage a traffic circle, much less urban fighting against Hezbollah or Israel. Technically, Lebanon has about 100 Soviet-era tanks and some Vietnam-era Huey helicopters. Who knows how many actually work. But basically, Lebanon has no capacity to defend itself from anything. A bunch of toddlers with squirt guns would be overwhelming for the Lebanese Army. Which is why Hezbollah, and years ago the PLO, are so powerful in Lebanon.

So will April 8 receive as much non-stop global outcry as October 7?

Will it become a litmus test on every mainstream network, where Zionists guests are asked,
"do you condemn the April 8 massacre?"

Will US politicians hold up pictures of dead Lebanese babies and scream for revenge? Will they create hoax stories about mass rape or babies in ovens?

Of course not. They won’t even talk about the 200 girls they killed at the start of this latest war. Absolutely no regrets.

The American public is by and large, dumb, uneducated, bigoted, and too lazy to care.

Why do you think it’s been so easy for a group of people to take over our government?!

What’s happening in Lebanon is a war crime. Period.

It’s not just a war crime. It’s sadistic. It’s demonic. It’s blood lust and it’s unfettered greed.

Really? I think Lebanon is a perfect example to Israel/Palestine of how a multi faith government and one state government can run.

Lebanon has the Sunnis, Shias, and Christian’s and Israel/Palestine has Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

I think because Lebanon is so diverse in this way, it is a threat to Israel.

Well, asking 7 million Jews in Israel to share power with nearly 6 million Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank is probably not happening. Remember, right wing Israelis murdered Yitzhak Rabin, the last Israeli PM to try a basic two state solution. And the right wing ultra orthodox murderers are the government of Israel today. Israel is not exactly a kumbaya country in 2026.

DP and I can’t believe it but that actually sounds good to me. Shortly after 10/7 I was 100% behind Israel so this has been very eye opening for me.

When Israel "declared independence" and launched The Great Ethnic Cleansing/ slaughter campaign (Nakba) in the late 1940's, they drove some 750,000 native Palestinians out of the region as refugees, and many others were murdered. Countless small towns and villages were left vacant.

The Israelis quickly moved in to many of the towns, changing their ancient Arabic names to Hebrew names in an attempt to wipe them from memory and history.

Other towns and villages were razed or burnt to the ground.

Israel has done the same to Gaza - and they are doing the same in southern Lebanon- it is what they do.
