This is a teen in high school, lives at home, doeesnr pay bills. Obviously didn’t magically become a responsible and mature adult who shoveled the driveway the minute he turned 18. If he were 30, it’s be different or even 21, but he’s eighteeen.
I have an almost 18 year old. He is expected to help out around the house - take out trash, sometimes unloads dishwasher, shovel snow. That's being a member of the household.
If I had a freeloading 25 year old who didn't help out, I'd address that too.
