If your 18 year old is such a grown adult, why do you still make them doctor appointments and take them to their pediatrician? Why do you pay for their college? Why do they not live independently? Why do you pay for their phone and car, gas, housing? Why are you so involved in their academics? Why do you talk to them daily?

Just because you insist on making their doctors appt and enticing them to like you with financing their life, does not take away from their right and legal ability to not speak to you ever again. They most certainly do not have to obey you after they become adults at 18. Hopefully there is MUTUAL respect and love at that point, but it sure doesn’t look like it from many of you.
